Artist’s Statement
Since as far back as she can remember, Elizabeth has been fascinated by the world of Art,
design and creativity and has been continually influenced by the work of Chris Ofili, Pablo
Picasso, Joan Miro, Gustav Klimt, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Paul Gaugin, Coco Chanel,
Marc Chagall, Alphonse Mucha as well as French and Spanish Renaissance Design and the
music of Paul Simon, Edith Piaf, The Housemartins and The Beatles.

After leaving Art College with a distinction in 2002, Elizabeth then continued her education by
studying International Fashion Business at University. Once she had graduated she worked in
various areas of the Creative Industry including working at Vogue Magazine, for a Prison Arts
Charity as well as modelling for a group of portrait artists. In 2009 her jewellery company Made-
New was created and she exhibited at Pure London and Pret-A-Porter, Paris, gaining clients not
only from the UK but Europe and Japan also. The ethos behind the brand was to take old jewels
that were discarded or forgotten, with a history and a life of intrigue and re-work and weave them
in to beautiful, brand new, sculptural creations. These days, Elizabeth constantly creates
jewellery pieces as well as painting to music.
