Treaty provisions should be cited as follows: Where a provision is new Article 10 TEU (introduced by Lisbon) Article 2 TFEU (introduced by Lisbon) Where a provision has Article 24 (ex 11, as amended) TEU or, if the been substantially context requires, Article 11 (now as amended amended Art. 24) TEU Article 16 TFEU (ex 286 EC, as amended) or, if the context requires, Article 286 EC (now as amended Art. 16 TFEU) Where a provision has Article 3 (ex 2) TEU or, if the context requires, been left essentially Article 2 (now 3) TEU unchanged Article 32 TFEU (ex 27 EC) or, if the context requires, Article 27 EC (now 32 TFEU) Where a provision has Article 3 TEU (repealed) or Article 3 TEU been repealed (repealed at Lisbon), as appropriate Article 293 EC (repealed) or Article 293 EC (repealed at Lisbon), as appropriate Provisions of the EAEC Article 3 Euratom Treaty The brackets system should be used the first time an article is cited within a piece, not every time thereafter as well, unless the context still requires such clarification.
