									                                   UCM’s Big IDEA!
The ‘Big Idea’ is BAAAAAAAAAAAACK! Tell us about your innovative idea for a new product or service. Compete with other
UCM student entrepreneurs to see who has the best BIG IDEA. WIN a PRIZE!! (Does it get any better than this?) Only the product
idea needs to be well formulated. You do not have to physically create a product. The product can be inspired from an existing
product and/or technology as long as it does not replicate or fully copy an existing consumer product.

What’s New this Year
  1. Every entry will make a 2 minute ‘pitch’ to a panel of judges.
  2. Ten (10) entries will be selected for a 15 minute ‘pitch’ to a panel of entrepreneurs.
  3. Five (5) entries will be awarded prices at the Missouri Business Conference (Sept. 26th)

 Who is Eligible? You must have been enrolled as a UCM student at any time between January 1-September 15, 2012, and have
taken (or been enrolled in) at least 6 credit hours

What are the requirements for UCM’s ‘Big Idea”?
        -       Describe an ‘innovative’ idea for a product or service.
        -       Your ‘Big Idea’ can be high-tech, low-tech, no-tech or a social venture
        -       One submission per person or team.

How to enter:        Fill out the attached entry form and description of your ‘Big Idea’ and email to:
            or drop off your application at The Entrepreneur Zone, Dockery Bldg., Suite 101.

Critical Dates:       August 15, 2011-- Begin accepting entries
                      September 9th 12:00 pm midnight— Final day for accepting entries.
                      Sept 13-14th____Applicants make their 2 minute pitch
                      Sept 15th ___ Ten Finalists notified
                      Sept 20th ____Ten Finalist make 15 minute presentation to entrepreneur panel of judges.
                      September 26th— The prizes will be awarded at the Missouri Business Conference by Honorary Host, U.S.
                      Congresswoman, Vicky Hartlzer on September 26th.

Judging criteria: Final selection for prizes will be based on the following criteria.
                          Creativity and innovation                     50%
                          Viability of business idea                    20%
                          Presentation                                  30%

Confidentiality: All entries will be handled in a confidential manner. All judges will sign a blanket confidentiality agreement prior
to presentations.
