TITLE: Portal of good news

DESCRIPTION: Im Rahmen des Projekts "Portal of Good News" treffen sich 21 junge
Kunst, Lokalpolitik, Wirtschaft, Sport, Jugendprojekte usw.

TITLE: Model International Court - MICC School

DESCRIPTION: Model International Criminal Court (MICC School) ist eine Simulation des
internationalen Rechtssprechung kennen lernen. Betreut werden sie von 6
Lehrkräften und 10 Trainerinnen und Betreuerinnen. Die Projektsprache ist
Englisch, keineR der Teilnehmerinnen ist Muttersprachler. Insgesamt haben an
MICC School bisher 420 Personen teilgenommen.
                Kultur.

TITLE: European volunteership for a global change

projet associant plusieurs organisations européennes : italienne (CEMEA del
Mezzogiorno), britannique (Point Europa), autrichienne (Infoeck), hongroise

                transformation

DESCRIPTION: This project is aiming - through promotion of Euro-African EVS activities - to
share experiences and visions in order to allow young volunteers to work for
social transformation in their own communities.
It offers 8 young people from Europe and Africa an opportunity of non formal

fields of intercultural learning, democracy, environment, social inclusion.
The preparation together, the distance contact during the stay abroad and the
evaluation/follow up meeting at the end, all together will ensure a group
sharing of experiences and visions of the volunteers, in which the individual
ones will be linked with each other and will prepare the ground for follow up

TITLE: ANI-MATE

DESCRIPTION: The project is a 6-month cooperation project between European volunteers
based in Barcelona (Spain) and an Argentinean education organisation,
Noosfera-CEID, based in Buenos Aires. The project will take place in the
social centre "Asamblea Popular de Flores" where the organisation already
coordinates activities, in collaboration with other groups. The aim of the
project is to address issues related to social exclusion among young people
through informal learning, the use of communication media, and the
development of a work cooperative. Volunteers will act as coordinators of
various workshops and informal courses including creative writing, sewing,
screen printing, digital publishing, documentary-making and basic IT. All these
courses ultimately aim at creating three sub-projects: an online magazine, a
documentary project - both raising awareness on local matters - as well as a
self-sustainable textile cooperative. The volunteers' role will be to assist,
encourage and empower the participants, based on the promotion of a
horizontal hierarchy structure, a democratic and equal working environment
and the importance of team work and cultural diversity. The development of
planned activities will be assessed continuously and adapted to the participants'
input, suggestions and ideas. The project is designed with the objective of
strengthening the local organisation's structure and encouraging the local
community's participation in a sustainable manner so that the actual project
would expand beyond its own boundaries.

TITLE: Step Further - Discovering Interculturality

DESCRIPTION: This project will enable 20 young people from Czech Republic, Estonia, France
and Luxembourg to spend 2 months in Guatemala and take part in a voluntary
service for the sake of the local community. The volunteers involved will be
young people with fewer opportunities. We will offer this unique opportunity
to young people who are coming from difficult social and cultural backgrounds,
with complicated economical or family situation, with low level of education
                and almost no international experience.
This project will be a valuable opportunity for the volunteers to come out of
their normal reality, where they are facing their every-day problems, and spend
two months as volunteers in Guatemala. This will give them another
perspective of their life, raise their self-esteem and self-confidence, contribute
to developing their skills and competences and increase their future
                employability.
The project will be adapted to the special needs of the young volunteers. Our
aim is to make it as open as possible. During the two months, volunteers will
take part in different programs of the hosting organisation and rotate between
them. This will enable them to try different activities, see what skills they have
and where their strengths are and what could be their work orientation in the
further life. They will be helping in organising sport activities for children and
young people in Guatemala, in improving the infrastructure of schools, hospital
and other facilities as well as helping to organise educational programmes in
                elementary schools.
Group EVS 10 young volunteers staying together for a period of two months.
to ensure the possibility for peer education and intercuítüral learning between
volunteers from four different European countries.
All the four sending organisations, members of Together pan-European
network, have wide experience in working with disadvantaged young people as
well as with EVS - either as sending, hosting or co-ordinating organisations.
This project will give us an opportunity to establish an EVS project with a
hosting organisation out of Europe. The hosting organisation, Pro Paz in
Guatemala, is a well-established organisation in Guatemala with long-term
experience in local and international volunteering. The reinforced mentorship
will allow us to tailor the project to the special needs of each individual
volunteers. The 20 volunteers will be in fact "young European ambassadors" to
Guatemala who will promote shared European values of solidarity, intercultural
tolerance and dialogue and international co-operation. We will put great
emphasis on visibility of the project as well as dissemination of results.

leisure activities, which may boost comradeship, knowing one another and
educational values. Its aim is to create a place to meet, talk and for alternative
leisure forthose young people who are not integrated in the social life of the
town by offering them attractive alternatives of educational and leisure
activities. The youth communities that find themselves in this situation are
mostly foreigners and made by immigrants that represent a representative
percentage in Lorca nowadays. For this reason the project has a strong
orientation towards intercultural education with the explicit objective of
preventing the formation of the cultural ghettoes and of encouraging the
interpersonal and inter-groupal interaction between youth from different
cultural backgrounds. Our main motivation is to fight integration difficulties of
recently arrived migrants in Lorca offering them a programme of leisure
activities which allow them to know other young people in town and so break
their isolation. Another motivation is to offer a wide, varied programme of
activities which complements that of the Town Council.

DESCRIPTION: FUDEBIOL is a non-profit project aimed to preserve the source of potable
water for the region of Pérez Zeledón in the South Pacific of Costa Rica. The
Cultural Association for the Cultural Interchange of Costa Rica have been
managing this project since its foundation in 1989 and AFAIJ is coordinating
the project for what is referred to the EVS. It was born with the aim of
protecting the river Quebradas and to preserve the rainforest of the mountain.
This project is situated on the mountain, 3 kilometres far from Quebradas,
between 100 and 2.500 meters of altitude, where there is a educative centre for
                the community.
This multilateral EVS project will send three European volunteers in Costa
Rica, one from Spain, another one from Italy-and the other one from Portugal,
who will share experiencesfor 6 months colaborating to maintain and improve
the educative centre. The main goal of this project is to involve the young
people in activities of protection of the natural environment in a tolerant and
intercultural context. While realizing activities of mainteinance of the gardens,
improvement of the didactic tools, and preparation of new routes for eco
tourism, etc. the volunteers will know the social reality of Costa Rica and will
integrate themselves in the local community, staying in direct contact with the
families and the young people of this area. Thanks to this EVS, the
development of the environmental education will be promoted among the
children, the young people and the rest of the population of Quebradas, and of

TITLE: Meeting & exchanging with indiginas children and young people in an
                orphan center

DESCRIPTION: The project titled "Project Mexico: Meeting & Exchanging with Indiginas
Children and young people in an Orphan center" takes place in Tuxtla, capital
city of one of the most southern states of Mexico: Chiapas. Two volunteers
(Group EVS) will reside during seven months in the Mexican Casa Hogar
Maria de Nazaret, a center for female streetchildren and orphans which is part
of the Mexican department of Vides (Vides de Mexico AC), the organisation of
the sisters of Don Bosco. Vides Mexico will be the host organisation of this
                project.
The volunteers will participate in the daily Casa Hogar-activities, while adding
their personal touch to it. They will learn to acknowledge and appreciate the
importance of the Casa Hogar Maria de Nazaret: this Hogar tries to be a home
for female children, teenagers and adolescents who live usually on the street
and for orphans. As Tuxtla is stated as one of the poorest cities of Mexico,
poverty is all around. The situation of the women in Chiapas and in the poor
comunities of indiginas is difficult. They have less opportunity to study, they
will be married at the age of 15/16 year and a lot of times left alone with the
children when the husband is looking for work in other regions or cities.
Alcoholisme, sexual abuse, low level of self-estime makes their position
vulnerable. Vides de Mexico AC tries to promote their personal, social and
educational development and the Casa Hogar Maria de Nazaret tries to realise
these intentions through the care and accommodation they offer to the girls in
need. They try to offer a friendly, safe and positive climate, because most of the
girls are afflicted by many painful and stressfukfactors having destabilised them
                emotionally.
                - The aims and-working methods of the project are also situated on these
central Vides-themes: firstly the volunteers will support the girls with
difficulties with their homework, secondly they will organize creative and
recreational activities (like painting, design, sculpture, music, dans, theatre) etc.
Together with the girls they will plan and organise recreational and
                sportacitivities and feasts.
Besides that, the volunteers will also assist the girls and staff in the Casa Hogar
with the basic needs: cooking, cleaning, and washing their clothes, personal
                hygiene.

This project will mobilise 94 volunteers from 10 contries an4 2 continents,
supporting young people from Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Uruguay, Ecuador,
French Guyana, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Spain, Malta and the UK. Half ofthese

of the opportunity to apply.for paraleli action 3.2 project which if succesful will
run in paraleli to this project giving us great opportunity to increase our support
for organisations working with this target group. The project will allow
volunteer mobility across Europe and Latin America & the Caribbean and will
introduce new partners to EVS as well as allowing Everything's Possible to
continue building relationships with existing partners. Forithe last ten years,
Everything's Possible staff have been co¬operating with partners, through
EVS, Youth and Youth in Action. Over the previous two years we have
widened participation by increasing opportunities to target groups of young
people with fewer opportunities, creating both sending & hosting placements
                under the banner of EVS.

network of Together pan--Eurepean youth organisations. Created by an ex-
European volunteer, after coming back home from one-year EVS project, it
had one of the aims from the very beginning to promote the possibilities of
young people and "Youth in Action" Programme in general, and now we are
more concentrated on EVS activities. Young people in Macedonia are very
limited in their mobility and cannot leave their country so easily, whether it is a
study, working, or just a holiday trip. This makes them disadvantaged,
comparing to other young people in Europe.
One of our aims of dealing with EVS sending projects is to give young people
the opportunity to visit other countries, get acquainted with other cultures, and
to be able to gain non-formal educational experience that will be of a high value
and use for them when they are back home after project.
At the same time, we are convinced that hosting European volunteers in this
region will have a great positive effect on local community, bringing and
promoting European values, as well as adding understanding and tolerance
towards differences in the cultures, thus, breaking stereotypes and fighting
                against racism and xenophobia.
In this project, we wish to send a young person from the Republic of
Macedonia, who has never had a possibility before to be abroad and to have an
intercultural experience, for a long-time project of twelve months in France,
Vigy, in a small town, where the inhabitants are not used to meet the
representatives from other countries.'"Together Macedonia" in this project will
be closely cooperating with "Together France" organisation, which will be the
coordinating organisation for ADEPPA in France, due to its 5-years experience
                in managing the EVS projects.
This project involves also a young person with fewer oporutnities (impacted by
                social, economical or geographical difficulties).

TITLE: Different cultures, same involvement

DESCRIPTION: Different cultures, same involvement entails the deployment of two Italian
volunteers by ARCI Ancona to PANGEA NGO in Salvador de Bahia (Brazil)
for a 7 months period as part of the local program Protagonismo juvenil.
The volunteers will cooperate in designing and implementing educational
activities (based on non-formal methodologies and artistic-creative
communications) developed by PANGEA within MULTIUSINAS, youth
centres located in the Salvador suburb area.
MULTIUSINAS' rationale aims to stimulate, through a personal, social and
technical education, the participation and the direction of young people, not
anymore as subject of external relief action, but as actors of development both
at personal and social level. At the same time the volunteers, during the work
activities with the local educators, are supposed to become both actors, who
offer their expertise and aid to the local community, and "targets" of a common
learning and growing path shared with the MULTIUSINAS' youth.
Moreover such common recognition of shared values, attitudes and needs
(such as the right to participation, the right to development, the right to a free
personal and cultural expression, and the right to creativity) will promote the
development of a dialogue and solidarity among young people that goes beyond
                their cultural heritage.

TITLE: Expanding culture together

DESCRIPTION: This project includes in total 38 volunteers. One big group of 18 volunteers will
leave to Brazil, Rio de Janeiro to work with less priveleged children. The impact
of a big group for the local community and for the volunteers is big. They learn
as a group, as an individual and aş part of a different culture. Twelve volunteers
will leave to a small vilage close to Kampala the capital of Uganda where they
will work at three different projects with Ugandan youth. First a group of six
volunteers will leave the give a helping hand at a school, a sport academy and
an orhange for abondend children. After six months they live and a new group
of six volunteers will arrive to continue the work of the first group of
volunteers. At last a group of 8 volunteers will leave to China, Houma for six
months to work at an orphanage for Chinese orphins. Also in these activity
there will leave a group of 4 volunteers for half a year, crossing the other group
                of four volunteers in China.
All the volunteers will come from Europe (The Netherlands) and they will be
living examples of cooperation with the European Union. In addition, the
volunteers will fight stereotypes by leading through example. They will show
that Europeans now are different than those of'the historical slave period, value
children with disabilities and low education on an equal basis to 'normal'
children and are interested in cross-cultural dialogue and understanding. The
volunteers will promote volunteer work abroad, and through their experiences
become more active citizens. Returning to their home countries they will
understand the value of community development, have a better understanding
of their own culture, and be interested in furthering their personal development

DESCRIPTION: This youth exchange offers the possibility to young people from programme

                promotion

DESCRIPTION: Project "Cross-border cooperation on youth entrepreneurship development
and promotion" is going to gather 46 youth workers active in the field of youth
self-employment, on a 5-day training that is to be organized in Novi Sad,
Serbia. There are 6 countries targeted through this project: Serbia, Macedonia,
Montenegro, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania, and there are 6 promoters from
above mentioned countries that will be involved in implementation of this
project. In total, around 30 different organizations/institutions from these 6
countries will be benefited by this project.
Certainly, one of positive solutions to youth unemployment problem is
entrepreneurship education and empowerment of youngsters, because today's
youth needs a creative, independent, non-traditional way of thinking about
business and their future employment prospects. In that sense, self-
employment needs to be more seriously considered by youngsters, as well as
those providing, or wishing to provide, youth with services in area of self-
employment, as viable income-generation option and as an alternative to job
                seeking.
The plan is build upon resources and opportunities provided by this project
and to, without wasting any time, immediately follow-up on it with a
Networking project that will further strengthen cross-border cooperation
mechanisms when youth entrepreneurship development and promotion is
concerned, and involve even up to 8 promoter organizations from the SEE
                region.
This project especially recognizes the need for "actions in key areas that affect
Europe's young people, particularly in areas of youth employment, creativity
and entrepreneurship..." as it is defined by the new EU youth strategy "Youth -

cultures, religions and ideologies within and between Europe and its

and promotion of diversity became a necessity and brought complex challenges
to which the population have to deal with. This is also reinforced by the
migratory mouvements in Europe. In this contemporary context, the role of
young generations is foundamental in developing creative tools for inter-
religious dialogue in order to go beyond actual barriers and interreligious
                problems.

Religions in the different "regions" from the shores of the Mediterranean Sea
Using creative methodology as "lateral and parallel thinking" approach and
Reciprocal maieutic approach, participants will learn how to use positively their
interreligiousity and to create a strong network on this issue.

TITLE: Creativity and innovation in the countryside: preparing a transnational
                rural project

DESCRIPTION: With this feasibility visit we bring young people from rural youth
organisations in Estonia, Finland, Denmark, UK, Sweden and Austria
together to share their ideas, best practices and knowledge of rural youth
activities with the aim of organising a multilateral youth exchange in Sweden
in summer 2010. The multilateral youth exchange will be the central activity
of a transnational project on innovative and creative rural development. At
this feasibility visit we will plan the transnational project and explore together
how we can combat the social exclusion and increasing marginlisation of
young people in the countryside. Topics such as youth entrepreneurship,
employment issues, and finding new ways for young people to develop rural
areas and participate in their local communities will be discussed in detail.
The working methods of this feasibility visit are based on non-formal
learning and will have a participatory approach. We will discuss the planned
theme and the participants' experience in this subject. As the activities
planned for the project will be designed to bond the group so that they will
develop a good working ethos, the programme will also encourage the group

TITLE: Education in the globalised world: threats and chances the 5 European
                   school student convention

DESCRIPTION: In a globalised world, where every issue must be considered in a global
perspective, Education must become a fundamental vector to address issues
such as sustainable development, climate change and democracy. The role of
young people and particularly students in addressing global issues must be
recognised. They have a key role to play in the future of this world, not only
because they are the adults and leaders of tomorrow, but also because they have
the possibility to think "out of the box", to invent new solutions. School has
the responsibility to enable innovative approaches to the global issues and it
should provide possibilities for students to become critically thinking
individuals. It is also the role of school student organisations to foster
individual students to take their share of responsibility in the world they live in.
Every student can be a global actor, and as OBESSU we want to encourage
actions at grassroot level in order to develop global conscience amongst
european school students. Therefore, OBESSU will organise an event where
school student representatives from over 15 European countries will discuss
the threats and chances for Education in a globalised world.
OBESSU also wants to use this space for a discussion on fundamental issues
having a direct incidence on school students and institutions such as Global
Education or the growing use of Information and Communication
Technologies. The European School Students Convention is the privileged
frame in which we work together with school student representatives Europe-
wide on the development of a culture of participation and responsibility.
