O. ZonaScrew Newsletter
A. Name The official name of this program will be “ZonaScrew.” B. Mission To create a student newsletter to be distributed at home athletic games; including but not limited to men’s football and men’s basketball. C. Membership A member is anyone who meets the following requirements: 1. Membership on the Committee is open to undergraduate, graduate, and professional part-time or full-time students enrolled at The University of Arizona. 2. Selection shall be made through an application and interview process then selected by the director of the ZonaScrew. D. Structure 1. ZonaScrew shall have one stipend Director appointed via an application process conducted by the ASUA Administrative Vice President. The previous ZonaScrew committee will also submit a recommendation for ZonaScrew Director to the ASUA Administrative Vice President. 2. ZonaScrew members will have access for distribution purposes to all athletic games with newsletters. 3. ZonaScrew will be funded by the Zona Zoo. (appointed asua president) E. Duties of the Director 1. The Director shall be the primary spokesperson and representative for the ZonaScrew. The Director shall recruit new members to the ZonaScrew and help with any membership orientation/training. 2. The Director shall oversee the budget and financial status of ZonaScrew. (with the ZonaZoo director) 3. The Director shall be responsible for completing and submitting all requisitions forms to ASUA and budget assessment for the activities and programs of the ZonaScrew. 4. The Director shall submit a bimonthly process report to the Administrative Vice President. The Director shall complete eight (8) office hours per week. The stipend for the Director shall be in accordance with the stipend of the bylaws. 5. The Director shall be the Editor and Chief of the ZonaScrew 6. The Director shall work with the Athletic Department. 7. The ZonaScrew Director shall serve as liaison between Programs and Services and Zona Zoo. 8. The ZonaScrew Director will serve on the Zona Zoo Crew under the Zona Zoo Director. 9. (general management, Making decisions about management, who’s on the ommittee, who wants what, etc. with consultation from the zonazoo director) E. Duties of ZonaScrew Members 1. ZonaScrew members are expected to attend all mandatory meetings. 2. ZonaScrew members are expected to have articles submitted by their due dates. 3. ZonaScrew members are expected to attend at least 75% of organized functions. 4. ZonaScrew members are expected to design two universal ZonaScrew apparel items to help unify and market the organization. 5. ZonaScrew members are expected to distribute newsletters at ZonaScrew events. 20
H. ASUA Zona Zoo Director
A. Mission The ASUA Zona Zoo Director shall be responsible for planning, establishing, organizing, and
running spirit events for the student body. B. Job Description 1. The Zona Zoo Director shall serve as liaison between the Athletic Department and ASUA. 2. The Zona Zoo Director shall be responsible for the operations of the “Zona Zoo Spirit Club”, serving as the director, and executing the distribution of any “Zona Zoo Spirit Club” materials. 3. The Zona Zoo Director shall complete twenty (20) hours per week, (10) ten will be in the office. 4. The Zona ZooDirector shall attend and chair a Spirit Advisory Board that will meet at least a monthly basis and will meet with Zona Zoo members to discuss potential projects, events and issues pertaining directly to athletics or the Zona Zoo program. 5. The Spirit Director will work to create new athletic traditions and enhance current the athletic traditions. 6. The Spirit Director will organize all events pertaining to athletics or Zona Zoo program, and will serve as an advocate for such programming and events. 7. The Spirit Director will serve as the student director for the Zona Zoo program and all maters relating to Zona Zoo will be directed to the Spirit Director. 8. The Zona Zoo Director’s assistant shall be referred to by the title “Assistant Zona Zoo Director”. 9. The Zona Zoo Director shall appoint the ZonaScrew Editor and Chief through an application process and shall fund the ZonaScrew Director as a stipend position. 10. The ZonaZoo Director will fully fund ZonaScrew publications and distribute the ZonaScrew.
