The Manager Admissions is a key management role in the Registry department and is responsible to
plan, manage and facilitate all aspects of student recruitment and admissions activities for the
Polytechnic. The Manager must work in the best interests of Bahrain Polytechnic within the relevant
legislation. This involves working closely with current Polytechnic students, faculty and staff,
prospective students, their families, relevant government departments and the community to meet
the recruitment and admissions targets. The Manager is an outstanding and dynamic employee who
can take on the challenges of being a leader and team member in a busy and stimulating
environment, with a positive attitude and a commitment to providing a high quality, efficient
service. They contribute widely to Bahrain Polytechnic administration and provide strategic advice
and critical and creative thinking both in and beyond their functional area.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
Bachelor Degree in Education, Administration, Management or Information Technology or
related field is essential
First Aid Certificate preferred
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
High levels of communication skills both oral and written
Office administration experience including maintaining records, administering databases,
Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc, and research
tools (internet and database use)
Experience working effectively in a dynamic, cross cultural environment and working with
second language learners
Experience in developing processes and systems

Plan, manage and facilitate all aspects of student recruitment and admissions activities for

Be accountable for the effective communication of recruitment and admission policies and
procedures throughout the Polytechnic and to prospective students, Schools and parents
Advise applicants and stakeholders on relevant matters regarding admission and enrolment,
policies and procedures including credit recognition processes
Ensure advice given to students by Registry staff is current and accurate
Monitor standards of written and verbal communication to ensure high standards are

Manage and direct the process of admission of students, including international students.
Provide admission services to Professional Development Centre for corporate and short
