Centro de Dependientes del Comercio de La Habana which is an
elementary school. After passing 5th grade, in order to take
admission in bachillerato, a secondary school which is a
combination of 6th grade and a preparatory year, he took an early
entrance exam.

Heriberto Sedeno studied at Havana Business Academy, a popular
academic center from 1957 to 1958. In 1958, after completing this
competitive exam that lasted for three days, his parents enrolled him
at a private school named o Academia Pitman. It was affiliated to the
state overseen Instituto de Ensenanza Secundaria de La Vibora
which was a public secondary school.

From 1963 to 1969, Heriberto Sedeno completed his B.A Biology
from the University of St. Thomas which is located in Houston,
Texas. The University of St. Thomas that is also abbreviated as UST
or St. Thomas was founded in 1947 by Basilian Fathers. It is an
extensive Catholic university which is grounded in the liberal arts. It
is the only Catholic university in the Archdiocese of
Galveston,Houston.
