Desperado

There was a Desperado from the wild and wooly West
He rode into Chicago just to give the West a rest
He wore a big sombrero and two six-guns at his side
And everywhere he went he gave his war hoop – HOOP

Chorus:
Oh, what a big bold man was this Desperado
From Cropple Creek way don in Colorado
And he horsed around just like a big tornado
And every where he went he gave his war hoop – HOOP

He went to Coney Island just to take in all the sights
He saw the Hootchi-Kootchi and the girls all dressed in tights
He got so darn excited that he shot out all the lights
And everywhere he went he gave his war hoop – HOOP

Chorus

                                                                 2

Ragtime Cowboy Joe

Way out west where the bad men are,
And the only thing to guide you is the evening star,
Is the roughest, toughest, man by far,
He’s Ragtime Cowboy Joe.

He always sings raggedy music to his cattle,
As he swings back and forth in his saddle,
On a horse, a pretty good horse,
A syncopated gaiter,
And there’s such a funny meter
To the roar of his repeater,
How they run- when they hear,
The fellow coming
Cause the western folds all know,
He’s a high falutin’, rooten-tooten,
Son-of-a-gun from Arizona.
Ragtime cowboy, talk about your cowboy,
Ragtime Cowboy Joe!

Taps

Day is Done, gone the sun.
From the lake, from the hills,
From the sky, All is well
Safely rest, God is nigh.

Green Trees

Green trees around us
Blue skies above,
Friends all around us
In a world filled with love.
Taps sounding softly,
Hearts beating true,
As we all say,
Goodnight to you.

Gone To Bed Is The Setting Sun

Gone to bed is the setting sun,
Night is coming and day is done,
Whip-poor-will, whip-poor-will
Has just begun.

Thanks And Praise

Thanks and praise for our days,
Neath the sun
Neath the stars, neath the sky.
As we go this we know
God is nigh

God Has Created A New Day

God has created a new day,
Silver and green and gold,
Live that the sunset may find us, Worthy His gift to hold.
                                                             6
Girl Scout Pep

The peppiest girls I ever saw
That ever came a pokin’
If I was to tell you the pep they
Had you’d think I was jokin’.
It’s not the pep in a pepper pot or
The pep is a popcorn popper.
It’s not the pep in a mustard jar or
The pep in a vinegar stopper.
It’s good ‘ole fashioned P-E-P
A pep you cannot doubt.
Girl Scout pep, Girl Scout Pep
Peppiest Girls around.

Make New Friends

Make new friends, but keep the old
One is silver and the other gold.

A circle’s round and has no end,
That’s how long I’ll be your friend.

When’re You Make A Promise

When’re you make a promise,
Consider well it’s importance.
And when made,
Engrave it upon your heart.

Brownie Smile Song

I’ve got something in my pocket,
It belongs across my face.
I keep it very close at hand,
In the most convenient place.
I’m sure you couldn’t guess it
If you guessed a long, long while.
So I’ll take it out, and put it on
It’s a great big Brownie Smile.

Barges

Out of my window looking in the night,
I can see those barges flickering light.
Silently flows the river to the sea,
And the barges too go silently.
Barges, I would like to go with you,
I would like to sail the ocean blue.
Barges, have you treasures in your hold?
Do you fight with pirates brave and bold?

Out of my window looking in the night,
I can see the barges flickering light.
Starboard shining green and port is glowing red,
I can see those barges far ahead.
Barges, I would like to go with you,
I would like to sail the ocean blue.
Barges, have you treasures in your hold?
Do you fight with pirates brave and bold?

Hawaiian Chant

There’s a funny little sunny little melody,
That was started by the natives down in Wai-kiki,
As they gathered around down beside the sea,
Funny little gay Hawaiian chant.

Chorus:
Tai-Wa-Tai, Un-a-wad-e-ah-ugh.
(Repeat Again)

Then the little village boys started singing it,
And the little village maidens started swinging it,
Like a tropical storm down beside the sea.
Funny little gay Hawaiian Chant.

Chorus:

Girl Scouts Together

Girl Scouts together, that is our song
Winding the old trails rocky and long.
Learning our motto, living our creed
Girl Scouts together in every good deed.

Girl Scouts together happy are we,
Friendly to neighbors far o’er the sea.
Faithful to country, loyal to home
Know as true Girl Scouts wherever we roam.

There was a jolly Dutch boy,
His name was Johnny Rebeck.
He made the finest sausages & sauerkraut & speck.
He made the finest sausages that ever were to be seen,
Until one day he invented the sausage machine.

Chorus:
Oh, Mister, mister Johnny Rebeck
How could you be so mean?
I told you you’d be sorry for inventing that machine.
Now all the neighbors’ cats and dogs
Will never more be seen.
They’ll all be ground to sausages
In Johnny Rebeck’s machine

One day a little boy came walking in the door.
He bought a pound of sausage & laid them on the floor.
And then he began to whistle & whistle up a tune.
And all the little sausages went dancing round the room!

Chorus:

One day the darn thing busted,
And simply wouldn’t go.

Animal Treasures I love you.

Even at the age of three
All you’d ever hear from me was
Animal Treasures, Animal Treasures
Animal Treasures, Animal Treasures

I’m just crazy ‘bout Animal Treasures, Animal Treasures
I can’t live without Animal Treasures, Animal Treasures
I would love to eat ‘em in bed
But if I did then Mom would break my little head
We live on nothing but Animal Treasures, Animal Treasures
Caramel De’lites won’t do
I’ll give up my bubble gum
If you’ll say you’ll give me some
Animal Treasures I love you.

So take my mints and take my pies
But don’t take what I idolize
Animal Treasures I love you.

Brownie Goodnight Song

Night is come, owls are out,
Beetles hum, round about.
Tip toe home, out they creep.
Brownies go home to sleep.

Doughnut Shop

Oh I walked around the corner
And I walked around the block
And I walked right into a doughnut shop
I picked up a doughnut right out of the grease
And I handed the lady a five-cent piece.

We-e-e-ll she looked at the nickel and she looked at me
And she said, “This nickel isn’t good for me!”
“There’s a hole in the middle and it goes right through.”
I said “Well there’s a hole in the doughnut too.”
“Thanks for the doughnut. Good day!”

Flea Fly (Mosquito)

Flea
Flea, fly
Flea, fly, mosquito

Calamine, calamine, calamine lotion
Oh, no more calamine lotion.
Itchy, itchy, scratchy, scratchy, got one on my backy, backy
Ohy, ohy, owwy, owwy, wish he’d go away
Quick get the bug spray, I think he went that-a-way-shhhhhh!
(Make can spraying motions)
