Using a Mavica Movie in PowerPoint (for the MVC-FD92)
1. On the camera, set the Play/Still/Movie switch to Movie. 2. Press and hold the shutter button to shoot your video. When you let go of the shutter button, it will stop filming and save your video to disk. 3. Wait until it's done saving. 4. Videos can optionally be played back on the camera by switching to playback mode, pushing "up" on the "joystick" twice, and then pushing "in" on the "joystick." 5. Turn the camera off. 6. Eject the disk. 7. Insert the disk into the computer. 8. Double-click on "My Computer" on the Windows desktop. 9. Double-click on 3 ½" Floppy (A:) 10. Click once on your Movie. The icon will look something like: 11. From the Edit menu, click on Copy. 12. Minimize that window. 13. Double-click on "My Documents" on the Windows desktop. 14. From the Edit menu, click on Paste. Your movie will be copied from the floppy disk into your home directory (H: drive). 15. Fire up MS PowerPoint (Start ! Programs ! Microsoft PowerPoint). 16. Open or create your presentation as normal until you reach the slide where you want to insert your movie. 17. From the Insert menu, click on "Movies and Sounds" and then on "Movie from File." 18. It might be necessary to tell PowerPoint to look in your "My Documents" folder for the video. With a little luck, you'll see your Mavica Movie listed (it'll have a name similar to MVC-289v). 19. Click once on your movie and then click on the OK button. 20. You'll be prompted to decide if you wish to have the movie automatically play when the show gets to that slide. The choice is yours and will depend on your needs at the time.
