Summer Jobs Summer Jobs Office of Human Resource Services • Hire summer appt in ePAF • Changes to existing summer job • Terminations • Distributions OPS-Student Employees OPS-Student Employees Office of Human Resource Services Summer Student Employees Must: • Be enrolled half-time and working <33 hours per week • Exempt from FICA - Current FICA exemption is through 5/18/06 - Eligibility for FICA exempt status is determine each semester based on enrollment OPS-Student Employees Office of Human Resource Services • Work Permits: -Indicate the Program which is the Salary Administration Plan -Has a Begin Date and an End Date -For a Student Assistant indicates the number of approved hours to work -For Federal Work Study the approved earnings • If you have a current student employee that is eligible to get a work permit for summer 2006: -check the work permit to see if changes are required OPS-Student Employees Office of Human Resource Services • If you have a current student employee not eligible to get a work permit for summer: -You must change to OPS through Processing and Record -Will be enrolled in the FICA Alternative • Paperwork Requirements -A new application and paperwork are not required if it has been less than one year since the employees last assignment through processing and records -A new application and paperwork are required if the employee has never had an assignment through processing and records OPS-Student Employees Office of Human Resource Services Terminations for Summer • If you have a current student employee who will not be working during the summer they must be terminated: -Termination effective 5/18/06 -In ePAF “Change Employment Status” • Student Employment will be entering terminations for students not registered Thank you for attending!
