STUDENT LEARNING ASSESSMENT STRATEGY:
  Assessment Devices:  Attendance, participation, and completing online reading and tests, and CPR and Medic First.

  Assessment Policy:           Successful completion of required reading, on-line testing and college testing.

  Grading Policy:              90 – 100% = A, 80 – 89% = B, 70 – 79% = C, 60 – 69% = D, < 60% = F

OTHER SPECIAL                  Lecture and computer online based training. Will receive a Construction (CFR 29, Part

DETAILED OUTLINE OF THE COURSE

   2     Ability to interpret a material safety data sheet.
   3     Discuss Employer safety responsibilities
   4     Discuss Employee safety responsibilities
   5     Describe the effects of electrical current on the body
   6     Discuss the importance of grounding
   7     Discuss lockout/tagout procedures
   8     Describe arc flash protection
   9     Explain types and purpose of personal protective equipment
  10     Discuss proper use of ladders
  11     Discuss types of scaffolds and platforms
  12     Discuss hoisting safety
  13     Discuss hand, power and powder actuated tool safety
  14     Discuss purpose and types of fall protection
  15     Discuss purpose and regulation of confined space
  16     Define a confined space and regulation
  17     Describe when ventilation is required
  18     Discuss classes of fires and extinguishers
  19     Complete First Aid & CPR training (1 credit)
