           Overview
           The Masters of Science in Education program consists of 30 semester
           hours beyond a bachelor’s degree. Graduate students have the option
           to complete the program through the established cohort model
           (lasting 13 months) or complete coursework on a schedule that is
           personally appropriate.
           The Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy program offers a
           unique experience characterized by the integration of theory and
           practice, a commitment to recruiting a diverse and academically
           talented candidate pool, and direct guidance by faculty members
           with expertise in respective areas within Physical Education Teacher
           Education. Through this program, experienced physical education
           teachers will have the opportunity to develop their ability to be a
           reflective practitioner as well as their appreciation for the connection
           between research and quality physical education.

           The program is delivered through distance education modalities with

Curriculum                                               Admission Requirements
Semester 1 (Summer)                                      Selection for admission is determined by the graduate faculty
                                                         in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education.
KIN 521 Analysis of Research in Physical Education 3.0
                                                         In addition to Graduate School admission standards, the

KIN 524 Assessment in Physical Education          3.0    Students selecting the non-thesis track must demonstrate
KIN 526 Diversity in Physical Education           3.0    competence in the content comprising the major (kinesiology
                                                         and area of emphasis) by passing a written comprehensive
                                                         examination. Students who elect to prepare a thesis must present
                                                         an oral defense of the thesis.
                                                         Application Deadline
                                                         The deadline is approximately one month before the start of
                                                         classes (Definite dates are on the application itself).
