Is parking available at Carly’s Crossing?

Yes. Parking is available at the NFTA Boat Harbor. Turn right off of Fuhrmann Blvd into the
NFTA Boat Harbor and parking is available in the lots straight ahead.

Are there bathroom facilities at Carly’s Crossing?

Yes. Portable bathrooms are located by the registration tent as well as by the official start line.

Do I have to register in advance to participate in Carly’s Crossing?

We strongly encourage that you pre-register for safety reasons and swimmer heat assignments.
But, it is not required to register in advance. Keep in mind, any day-of registrants will be
permitted to swim the 600-yard course only. We cannot guarantee that you will swim with the
group of your choice. Day-of registrants must register by 7:30am on August 15th.

You can register online by clicking here. Or, you can call the Roswell Park Special Events
Office at 716-845-8788 to register by phone or mail a completed registration brochure to:

What is the fundraising minimum to participant in Carly’s Crossing?

Participants 10-years-old and over are required to raise $100 (not including the registration fee).
Participants under 9-years-old are required to raise $75 (not including the registration fee).

What if I don’t raise the required fundraising minimum by the day of the
swim?

Unfortunately, if participants are unable to raise the required minimum by August 15th, they will
not be permitted to swim in Carly’s Crossing. This policy will be strictly enforced. Swimmers
are welcome to personally complete the difference the day of the swim in order to be eligible to
participate.

Can I swim in more than one event?

Yes. Participants can swim in more than one event. However, swimmers wishing to do so must
raise $200 as a required fundraising minimum.
Is there an age limit to swim in Carly’s Crossing?

No, there is no age limit to swim in Carly’s Crossing. However, we strongly encourage and
prefer that you are a member of, or have an affiliation with, a swim club or swim team that can
verify your physical ability to swim the course(s) you have chosen.

What if it is raining the day of the event?

Carly’s Crossing will be held rain or shine.

When/How can I turn in my cash/check pledges?
Donations collected BEFORE August 6, 2010 can be mailed to:

   Buffalo, NY 14240-0644
   *Don’t forget to mail your pledge sheet with your donations and put your name (the
   swimmer) in the memo line!

Donations collected AFTER August 6, 2010 can be handed in at the registration tent on the day
of Carly’s Crossing (August 15th).

Is breakfast and/or lunch provided at Carly’s Crossing?

Yes, breakfast is generously donated by local partners for all swimmers and spectators. Lunch
tickets are provided for all Carly’s Crossing participants. Any spectators will be able to purchase
lunch and snacks for a nominal fee at the food tent.

Where can I put my belongings while I am swimming?

There will be a “bag drop” area at the Start Line and a “bag pick-up” area at the Finish Line.
Swimmers can leave their bags at the drop area and a volunteer will transport all bags to the
Finish Line where swimmers can pick them up once they have completed their swims.
Are there changing areas available at Carly’s Crossing?

Yes, there will be two tents designated as a changing area. One tent will be marked as the
“Women’s Locker Room” and the other will be marked as the “Men’s Locker Room.”

Can I wear my own swim cap while swimming?

No. A specific Carly’s Crossing swim cap will be provided to you with your heat and swimmer
number on it. These caps are specifically coordinated to abide by our safety standards.
