About the seminar
The technology of magnetic resonance imaging continues to develop with higher field systems, faster gradients, higher ef-
ficiency coils, faster scanning techniques, more sophisticated scanning protocols and improved image quality algorithms.
These enhancements are driving a wide variety of clinical applications that continue to expand the diagnostic capabilities
of this modality. Keeping up with this technology is a challenge for those utilizing MRI to image and interpret disease and
provides an opportunity for those with this knowledge. This seminar will provide an opportunity to review and update your
skills on the technology of MRI, including the latest scanning protocols, optimizing MR image quality, scanner performance
assessment and special applications of MRI. Participants are encouraged to bring their questions and concerns about sup-
porting MRI units for an exchange with the faculty and other attendees. You will get an update on MRI unit accreditation
and frequent reasons for failure. This seminar will fulfill the ACR continuing education requirement for personnel in ac-
credited facilities. Approval for 2 SAMs within this program, is pending.
