Creative Design and Arts Management

“Creative Design and Arts Management in Greece” is a summer study abroad program in Greece jointly
organized by the Department of Management and Decision Sciences and the Department of Visual Arts.
The program will visit Athens and other cities in Greece during May 2012. This will be a unique and
collaborative program with a focus on interdisciplinary learning. As part of the program, business students
will engage in the study of creative aspects of management through arts appreciation, and arts students will
engage in the business of creating and managing art. The group plans to visit historical monuments,
museums, universities, businesses, government organizations and other cultural institutions in Greece that
will enrich students’ understanding of the confluence between art and business. Specifically, the program
will include visits to Athens, Delphi and the Cycladic Islands, such as Paros, Tinos and Santorini. Students
will have an opportunity to visit some of the world's most historic sites such as the Acropolis, the
Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, Agora of Athens, and the Temple of Zeus. Additionally, students
will interact with scholars and leaders from industry, governmental organizations and the artistic
community. Join in on this exciting learning adventure!
