1.   JURISDICTION:
     Held under the General Competition Rules and Standing Supplementary Regulations of Motorsport South Africa (MSA), these
     Supplementary Regulations are final instructions which may be issued to competitors and any relevant MSA Circulars of 2011,
     which will take precedence to these SR’s. These regulations must be read and understood by all competitors.

2.   DEFINITION:
     The National Championship is organised in accordance with the rules of Motorsport South Africa. The Competitor is defined as a
     competitor who holds a Senior or Junior National motocross licence or has held a Junior cross riding motocross licence in the
     current year of competition.

3.   MOTORSPORT SOUTH AFRICA PERMIT NUMBER:
      MSA - 11508
     Please note that the MSA and the National Flag will be prominently displayed Shavron Motocross Circuit, Kenilworth Rd,
     Bloemfontein

3.   JUNIOR COURSE AND VENUE:
      Course is situated - Tempe Airport, Kenilworth Road, Bloemfontein
      Length of the track – 1451m
      Direction of the track - Clockwise

4.   SENIOR COURSE AND VENUE:
      Course is situated – Tempe Airport, Kenilworth Road, Bloemfontein
      Length of the track – 1831m
      Direction of the track – Clockwise


5.   ELIGIBILITY OF RIDERS:
     a.      The Competition is open to all riders who hold valid South African National Competition Licences for Motocross and
             whose motorcycles comply with the specifications and regulations.
     b.      Regional Licence holders in the particular region of the National Championship may purchase a one event National
             Championship Motocross licence @ R100 from MSA in order to compete (18/6/2011) – THIS LICENCE WILL NOT BE
             AVAILABLE ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT.
     b.      Competitors must refer to SSR 242, SSR 243, SSR 249 and SSR Art 2 in the 2011 MSA Non Circuit Handbook

       The race day will run on a Jury system as per SSR 248 in the 2011 MSA Non Circuit Handbook.

7.    COMPETITION NUMBERS:
      Competition numbers for all classes will be those as issued by Motorsport S.A (Head Office) only.
      (Refer to SSR 221 - SSR 224 in the 2011 MSA Non Circuit Handbook)

8.    RIDING GEAR:
      Protective clothing must be worn by all competitors as set out in SSR 225 in the 2011 MSA Non Circuit Handbook

9.    ENTRIES:
      a.     For an entry to be valid, a completed official entry form must be with the organiser by the closing date.
      b.     Entries open immediately and close on Saturday 4/6/2011, 2 weeks before the event. (Refer to SSR 252 in the 2011
             MSA Non Circuit Handbook)
      c.     Telephonic entries are not accepted
      d.     Entries received after the Monday 6/6/2011 will not be included in the programme.
      e.     Entries will be accepted in order of being received up to a maximum of 40 starters.
      f.     Entry fees are as follows: (no cheques allowed)

10.   ENTRANT’S LICENCES:
      Where the entrant is NOT the rider, an entrant/sponsor licence must be obtained from MSA and submitted together with the entry
      form, failing which the Entrant’s name will not be published in the programme.

11.   ENTRY TO CIRCUIT:
      Entrance to the grounds will be free for a (1) rider and a (1) mechanic. All other persons will have to pay an entry fee in the
      amount of R30-00 p/person as decided on by the organising club. Children u/12 years – free.

12.   DOCUMENTATION AND SCRUTINEERING:
      a. Refer to race programme for times.
      b. Self Scrutineering will apply. Compliant forms will be available at registration and they must be returned completed to the Jury
         President. A Scrutineering sticker will be given to the rider on completion of the form. Competitors are warned that should the
         motorcycle fail a sample spot check by the authorised scrutineer before practice sessions, then action will be taken
         against that competitor (Refer to GCR 93 (iii) and SSR 226 – the Jury to decide appropriate penalty.
13.   RIDERS BRIEFING:
      Riders briefing will be held at The Darryl Bezuidenhout Tower. All riders must be present at the briefing at the stipulated time and
      venue. Representatives may accompany the rider to the briefing. Failure to attend the riders briefing may result in a fine of
      R100-00.

14.   PRE RACE PADDOCK / WAITING ZONE:
      The Pre-race paddock / Waiting Zone is situated on the right of start .
      Ten (10) minutes before the scheduled start time of the first heat, competitors competing in the race concerned should move to
      the pre-race paddock / Waiting Zone. Competitors in succeeding heats should present themselves in the pre-race paddock /
      Waiting Zone 15 minutes before their race starts.

15.   STARTS:
      a.    The starting order for the first heat will be based on current championship points and subsequent heats will be based on
            the finishing positions of the preceding heat. Refer to SSR 230 in the 2011 MSA Non Circuit Handbook
      b.    The Start of the race will be in accordance with SSR 230 – SSR 234 in the 2011 MSA Non Circuit Handbook
      c.    Competitors who do not take part in official practice must confirm their intention to start to the COC, no less than one
            hour before the start of the first heat.

16.   END OF THE RACE:
      a.     The waving of the chequered flag will signify the end of each race. (Refer to SSR 237 – SSR 240 in the 2011 MSA Non
             Circuit Handbook)
      b.     The Jury Presient/COC reserves the right to impound and examine any motorcycle at their discretion

17.   NOTICE BOARD:
      The official notice board is situated at The Darryl Bezuidenhout Tower.

18.   RESULTS:
      a.    After every heat, results which have been posted on the notice board situated at the Darryl Bezuidenhout Tower, will
            become final FIFTEEN (15) minutes after posting after the final heat. (Refer to GCR 200 and GCR 275 & SSR 255).
      b.    These results are not to be removed and disciplinary action will be taken against any person removing these results
            without authority. Additional copies may be obtained from the Secretary of the meeting.

19.   PRIZEGIVING:
      a.     The prize giving will take place as soon as possible following the last heat and after the results become final.
      b.     Dead heats will be resolved as per GCR 275 and SSR 239.
      c.     Competitor’s attention is drawn to GCR’s 274, GCR 280 and GCR 281.
      d.     Prize money and trophies will be awarded according to the table set out in SSR 241 in the MSA Non Circuit Handbook.
             Any rider not attending prize giving will forfeit his/her prize money, unless suitable arrangements are made with the Race
             Secretary.

20.   SILENCING OF MOTORCYCLES:
      Competitor’s attention is drawn to SSR 235 C (xii) in the 2011 MSA Non Circuit Handbook – Maximum 94db.

21. POSTPONEMENT, ABANDONMENT OR CANCELLATION:
    The Organisers reserve the right to postpone, abandon or cancel the meeting or any part thereof. In the event of any of the
    above, the Competitor/Entrant has no right to claim against the Promoter/Organiser in respect of any loss or damage he/she may
    incur, other than that specified in GCR 244. The meeting will not be postponed, abandoned or cancelled without the consent of
    the Jury of the Meeting in accordance with GCR 152.

22. RIDING CONDUCT:
    Refer to SSR 257 in the 2011 MSA Non Circuit Handbook.
    Incidents/Retirements – Refer to SSR 235 B in the MSA Non Circuit Handbook.
    Any competition motorcycle or driver found using the access roads, pits or any other area for testing or being driven in a manner
    that is considered by the COC to be dangerous including travelling in the wrong direction on the track will be excluded from the
    event, irrespective as to who was riding the motorcycle at the time. Notwithstanding the exclusion, he/she will be reported to the
    Jury of the Meeting who may consider further action in terms of a breach of GCR 172 (vii)

23. FUEL:
    Competitor’s attention is drawn to GCR 240 and SSR 255 in the 2011 MSA Non Circuit Handbook with regard to fuel. Pump fuel
    is 93 octane.

24.   ADVERTISING:
      It is a condition of entry that in addition to the advertising referred to in GCR 246, competing motorcycles shall also display the
      advertising, if any, as stipulated in the Championship and Specifications for the class for which the motorcycle is entered.
      Refer to Note 15 in SSR Art 1 item 13 in the 2011 MSA Non Circuit Handbook

25. POINTS:
    Points will be scored as per SSR 244 in the 2011 MSA Non Circuit Handbook
26. PROTESTS:
    All protests and appeals will be dealt with as set out in Appendix R, Parts IX and X, as well as SSR 255 in the 2011 MSA Non
    Circuit Handbook

27.   CLOSURE OF CIRCUIT:
      Please note that the circuit will close by no later than 18:00 on Saturday (2) two weeks prior to the event 4 June 2011      – NO
      EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE!!

28.        TRANSPONDERS:
          Transponders are compulsory and will be issued at documentation. If a rider is riding 2 classes, they will use the same
          transponder for both classes. If the rider chooses to take a second transponder, there will be a fee of R114 for the second
          transponder. Riders remain responsible for transponders once issued are liable for any costs incurred for loss or damage. Refer
          to SSR 252 in the 2011 MSA Non Circuit Handbook.

29. MINIMUM NUMBER OF STARTERS:

             MX 2                                                 -        20 mins + 1 lap

             MX 3                                                 -        15 mins + 1 lap
             MX 1                                                 -        20 mins + 1 lap


             Two practice sessions will be permitted.
