Assistant/Associate Director of Assessment: The need for assessment and improvement in Student Affairs is a best practice across the nation. North Carolina State University and Georgia Tech both have full-time positions in assessment for their Divisions of Student Affairs. Coordinating across the campus and creating research opportunities for faculty is a key component of an assessment position. Out of the 30 peer institutions investigated, 22 have at least one FTE at the associate or assistant director level dedicated to assessment in student affairs. 2. High Speed Widget Maker: The need for a high-speed widget maker is evident because of efficiencies that come from using the widget maker. All of our students want widgets, and having our own widget maker will bring increase accessibility for orange widgets. While only six peer institutions have their own widget makers, they generate sufficient revenue from the widget operation to pay for its expense and create additional income.
