					Block W4 Project Update: September 2012
Dear neighbour,

W4 Regent Street – a Crown Estate development managed by Exemplar

August saw good progress on the ground works to the W4 project. Mini piling to the higher levels
commenced - with 38 piles to install in total. The capping beam around the top of the sub-basement was
completed allowing for excavation of the basement level 2 to continue to its final level. The Geothermal
Boreholes are now complete with all 27 of the geothermal boreholes installed and tested. August also saw
the installation of the first pile caps which provide a platform for the new building to ‘sit on’ and prevent the
building sinking.
To date, approximately 3200 m3 of excavated material has been removed to allow the formation of the
basement and new sub-basement for the building.

Progress on site during August/September:

•    Underpinning to the existing facades

•    Continuation of groundwork's and basement formation

•    Completion of final geothermal borehole

•    Construction of the pile caps

•    Erection of the second tower crane

Over the coming month, our works will include:

•    Excavation of the sub basement and basement levels

•    Continued construction of the pile caps and pouring of basement slab

•    Construction and commencement of the concrete core slipform.

Meet the team and tour the site
Our next Community Liaison Group (CLG) will take place on Wednesday 14 November at 6.00pm at 16
New Burlington Place. The CLG will be followed by an informal tour of the construction site, and provide
an opportunity to view the development up close, meet the site team and ask questions about the
