Title: … Oxygen… cellular respiration… ___ peas vs. ____ peas, and … temperatures…

Introduction/Purpose: State the purpose (what you’re trying test/experiment on). (1-3 sentences)

Background: Cellular Respiration (Oxygen vs. CO2… Germination… KOH…

Procedure: Summarize what you did (the major steps). (paragraph form – not bullets/list)

Tables/Graphs: 2 tables. Your groups data + cumulative data (given)

NO Cumulative 10° data!!! (but you have to explain in results)

Graph: Only one graph (cumulative class data) with TWO lines (Germinating & dry corrected difference).
x-axis (independent) = time (min), y-axis (dependent) = amount of O2 used (mL).

Results: Put your tables into words. (4-6 sentence summary of results). Also any observations you made
during the lab. YOU NEED TO EXPLAIN what happened to the 10° data… the temperature was
fluctuating, so the readings were inconsistent due to stirring of the ice.

Discussion: What do your results mean? Do they agree with the expected (germinating to do more than
dormant and 21° more than 10°). Explanation why they don’t (if ness.). I think we need a bigger temp
difference to make it noticeable. (4 sentences – as many as needed).

Extension: Design your own experiment, testing something about rate of oxygen consumption as a result of
respiration. Think of a new variable (maybe ….). Come up with a hypothesis (expected results). Develop a
basic procedure.
