APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
Interested students with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater and a record of academic success in technical
courses may submit their application materials to the Undergraduate Programs office, A-122 Thornton
Hall. Complete both pages of this form, including a brief letter describing your reasons for applying to
SEAS. Please email the completed application materials to Associate Dean Berger
(berger@virginia.edu). ONLY electronic submissions will be accepted. In evaluating a transfer
application, attention will be given to academic achievement, career goals, and the availability of space in
the program of the applicant’s preference. Students with no track record of success in technical courses
will not be accepted for transfer into SEAS.

PRE-TRANSFER COURSE WORK AND TRANSFER CREDIT
Courses in calculus, chemistry, calculus-based physics and computer science are recommended. On a
space available basis, students may take the SEAS applied mathematics (calculus) series and chemistry
and physics for engineers offered by the College of Arts and Sciences (CLAS). Equivalent CLAS courses
in these areas are also acceptable. However, in the latter case, the student may wish to check for
equivalence with SEAS before taking the course. Courses taken in the CLAS in the humanities and social
science areas are generally acceptable for transfer credit to satisfy similar degree requirements within
SEAS. Applicants are expected to have completed at least one calculus and one physics course at the time
of application.

Fill out this form (both pages), and save the file as xxxxx_seas_xfer.doc, where "xxxxx" is your UVa
