                                       From The Pastor
                                                 PART ONE
We want to thank The Ladies Adult Sunday School Class that donated $500 towards the replacement
microphones for the sanctuary. After June 1st, we cannot use the current microphones. That will purchase and
install one which Gelnett and Associates has been contacted to do. In addition Property is including a system
wide check up to make sure the sound system is working at optimum peak
performance for our worship.
                                                   PART TWO
If you have been attending our Congregational Meetings where we do the
Power Point Presentations, you have surely noticed the condition of our
projection screen. Church Council would like to replace that screen with a new
Da Lite Screen. Gelnett and Associates is their local supplier. We are planning
to get an 8’ x 8’ floor model rather than one that stands on a tripod like our
current one. The screen will cost $462 and the stand will cost $460 that raises
the screen. To the right is what the screen will look like. If you would like to
donate towards the screen just let any member of Church Council know or write
Da Lite Screen on the memo line of your contribution.
                                               PART THREE
We want to thank Carol Hoffman, Lisa and George Young, Don Bucher and all the others who have
volunteered to mow the grass around the church in past years. This year Kaye Allen Wolfe (known as
(Wolfy) has volunteered to mow our grass and we thank him for his willingness to serve.

Currently the church does not have a working weed whacker and if you have an old
one that you no longer use but still works, would you consider donating it to the church?

                                                  PART FOUR
Every year our Tulpehocken Conference hosts a Conference Youth Day at
Knoebel’s Grove. This year it is Wednesday, June 16th. We meet at Pavilion B
which is behind the Skloosh across the creek from the Campground. The festivities
begin at 10:00 a.m. with ice breakers so the different church youth members can get
to know one another. There is also a scavenger hunt throughout the park. Prizes
are awarded the winning team. The churches provide lunch at the Pavilion (hot
dogs and hamburgers) and then the remainder of the day is free time in the park.
Each St. John’s youth member that attends will receive $10.00 towards either ticket
purchases or a hand stamp. Please let Pastor Dale, Sue Billman, or Laurie Robinson
know if you are planning to go.

I have a conflict in the morning as well as two of our drivers from past years, so
at this time we do not have transportation for our youth to get there by 10:00. If
you can drive please let me know. I will get there around noon and can bring 5 of
                        them home in my van.
A fresh look at Pentecost
Fifty days after Jesus’ resurrection, on a

When morning comes
An unknown author has written: “There are only two kinds of people in the

Lord’; then there are those who wake up in the morning and say, ‘Good Lord,

The Feather
The 12th-century mystic Hildegard of Bingen told this parable:
“There was once a king sitting on his throne. Around him stood great and wonderfully beautiful
columns ornamented with ivory, bearing the banners of the king with great honor. Then it pleased
the king to raise a small feather from the ground, and he commanded it to fly. The feather flew not
because of anything in itself but because the air bore it along. Thus, I am a feather on the breath of
God.”

A prayer for one’s family
Our heavenly Father, we come as your children to praise you for putting us in our family. We thank
you for the love and nourishment we have received from those in whose presence we have been
placed. We confess our need for your guidance in our families. Please grant us harmony in our
homes and enable us always to show respect and love for one another. In Christ’s name, Amen.
