We are delighted to let you know that Symphonia for South Africa received the Blue Dart Global Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) Award for Social Entrepreneurship at a glittering ceremony on 18 February 2012 at Taj Lands
End, Mumbai. The Union Minister of Corporate Affairs, Dr. M Veerappa Moily presented the global CSR awards,
which was part of the first World CSR Day.

The Global CSR Awards recognised Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) champions across various industries. The
awards aim at assessing the extent to which CSR projects have succeeded in integrating with corporate
functioning; the responsiveness of these projects to the needs of different stakeholders and the development of
innovative models to fulfil social responsibilities.

The Social Entrepreneurship award recognised Symphonia for South Africa for their innovative leadership
development programme where business leaders are partnered with school principals in a co-learning and co-
action partnership.

Louise van Rhyn was in Mumbai to receive the award on behalf of the team. The 2 gentlemen in the picture are Dr.
