IMPACT TRAINING SERVICES ADULT APPRENTICESHIP DIPLOMAS FOR THE CARE SECTOR The Apprenticeship framework consists of the following 2 levels; Apprenticeship Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (QCF) Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (QCF) Delivery comprises of the following elements; Technical Certificate Appropriate QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care (previously NVQ) Key Skills training. Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR). Timescales for completion are between 12-18 months. Workplace observations which form part of the assessment process will also be carried out by Impact Training Services assessors with candidates by arrangement. Apprenticeship diplomas are extremely useful to social care employers, as well as providing the employer with funding for training their staff in a structured and work-based way, they now also give more technical knowledge, and an assurance that those staff do in fact have the key skills of communication and application of number. Technical Certificates - Knowledge Element Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Technical Certificates were introduced to ensure that the underpinning theoretical knowledge required by a successful apprentice can be clearly demonstrated. QCF Diplomas in Health & Social Care The QCF Diplomas have been designed to guide and assess the development of knowledge and skills relating to the health and social care workforce. These qualification confirm competence in areas of Health & social care where appropriate. The Diplomas serve as the required qualification for registration and regulatory requirements in the social care sector in England. Key Skills The following elements must be included: Apprenticeships Key skill of Application of number at level 1 Key skill of Communication at level 1 Advanced Apprenticeships Key Skill of Application of number at level 2 Key skill of Communication at level 2 NB: Key skills assessment must include a portfolio and an end test, unless an exemption/relaxation applies, where a learner holds other qualifications. Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) Employment rights and responsibilities must be included for all Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships and include a requirement for all apprentices to understand their responsibilities for equal opportunities, health and safety and to understand the safe learner concept. NB: Candidates must have been resident in the EU/UK for 3 years or more and do not have a Level 4 or degree level qualification to qualify for funding in 2011. Employers may be required to part fund this training in 2012.
