                                         JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE:                 INFORMATION SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION SPECIALIST
FLSA STATUS:           Non-exempt
SALARY RANGE:          Job Group 15: $39,635.36 - $47,851.68
HOURS:                 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
DEPARTMENT:            INFORMATION SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION
REPORTS TO:            INFORMATION SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

Purpose of Information Systems Administration Specialist:
To assist Information Systems Administrator with all computer/information systems related duties and
to assume duties of System Administrator in her absence.

Tasks:
General:
   1. Monitor file space
   2. Run reports
   3. Reconnect Imaging equipment
   4. Troubleshoot imaging problems
   5. Turn on Public Access computers and terminals in the morning and clean display screens, when
       needed.
   6. Oversee print jobs done on computer room system printers
   7. Notify the System Administrator when supplies are low (paper, printer ribbons, etc.)
   8. Trouble-shoot hardware and software issues
   9. Assist ISA with maintenance of Windows network—including use of Virus protection, Internet
       access (especially T1 lines)
   10. Assist with ISA functions, including:
        Banker & Tradesmen reports
        Maintenance of printers
        Assist staff and Titleview users with computer-related operations
        New equipment set-up/installation
        Swap backup tapes for the servers
        Maintain connectivity between servers and remote sites
        Establish and support TitleView users
        Work with Finance Dept. on Titleview billing
   11. Serve as back-up system administrator and/or archive coordinator
   12. Update website using Word Press

Work environment and equipment:
1. Medium-size office shared with Information Systems Administrator
2. State-of-the-art, climate-controlled land records facility
3. High level of computer keyboarding skills utilized
4. High volume of customer assistance calls from Registry users as well as Titleview customers
5. Daily interaction with Registry staff, Registry users, and off-site users
6. Provide guidance on required tasks to department members in administrator’s absence

Required Certificates, Licenses or Education:
1. College graduate preferred
2. Work history may substitute for education
3. Information Technology Services or Information Systems Administration experience required

Required Knowledge and Experience:
1. Two years of practical work experience in the support of a 100-seat minimum local area network,
    with hands-on experience in the administration of Windows 200x based servers running the
    Microsoft SQL Server 200x DBMS in a .NET environment.
2. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration and the usage of Crystal Reports are desirable.
3. Knowledge of all Windows operating systems.
4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office desktop applications is essential.
5. Experience with hardware configurations, including personal computers, printers, and /Windows
    servers.
6. Knowledge of application software distribution is a must.
7. Desktop application support is a requirement of the position.
8. Familiarity with network security protocols and defenses is highly desirable.
9. Knowledge of CISCO routers and communication protocols is considered a plus.
10. Knowledge of HTML and browser-based applications is highly desirable.

11. Ability to work with thin clients and experience in Microsoft Terminal Server or Citrix XenApp
    Server is very desirable.
12. Knowledge of data replication, backup, and disaster recovery methods is considered a plus.
13. Knowledge of the real estate industry records filing process is a plus.
14. Ability to work independently.
15. Aptitude for mechanical tasks.
16. Ability to deal politely with staff, public, and off-site Registry users.

Non-essential functions:
1. May perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned by Administration as needed.
2. May be assigned to other Registry Departments, as workflow requires or as management deems
   appropriate, based on assessment of skills.
