					      “CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND DEPORTATION:
            THE INVISIBLE CRISIS”
       A Conference sponsored by John Jay College of Criminal Justice/CUNY in collaboration with
                     The New York City Legal Aid Society and the JEHT Foundation

                                        AIMS OF THE CONFERENCE
John Jay College of Criminal Justice and The Legal Aid Society will assemble representatives
from a range of organizations involved with immigration and deportation issues relating to the
Caribbean and Latin America. This conference through panels, workshops and media dialogues
will:
     Initiate an ongoing dialogue between legal professionals, academics, social researchers,
      activists and political representatives.
     Focus attention on the legal, political, social, psychological and human rights dimensions
      of deportation.

     Stimulate an informed debate through the dissemination of social scientific data, legal
      opinion and political analysis

                       The discussions will be conducted in English and Spanish
