ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE

        Finalist team in a project competition sponsored by Google in which a relational database and corresponding web-
         based interface for an online social network was implemented. Besides the functionalities of a social network, users
         were able to purchase items advertised on the web site. Project was developed in groups of 3 students.
          Languages and tools used: MySQL for the database; Apache Tomcat as the Web Server; JavaScript, JSP and
             HTML for the User Interface.

        Worked on an interactive web calendar application that intended to assist physicians for managing outpatient issues.
         In this application, patients were able to create diet/exercise plans, as well as record other information such as sugar
         levels, medication intake, blood pressure, weight, immunization shots, etc. This application also allowed doctors to
         track patients’ progress. Project was developed in groups of 4 students.
          Languages and tools used: MySQL for the database; Glassfish as the Web Server; JavaScript, JSP, JQuery, EL,
              JSTL, HTML for the User Interface; and Servlets, Java Beans, and Hibernate for managing transactions.

        Worked in a team-project in which a web-based scheduling system for schools was developed. The application
         allowed users to create courses; assign rooms, Professors and TAs for classes. Project was developed in groups of 3
         students.

             HTML for the User Interface; and Servlets, Java Beans, and Hibernate for managing transactions.

        Worked on a research project mentored by Professor Marcos S. Pinto from New York City College of Technology.
          Purpose: Explore inline styles, embedded styles and external style sheets.
            Research was funded by LSAMP program.
