1. Autism to Autism service! Supporting and Placing Adults with ASC in Voluntary
Placements

We are actively recruiting adults (aged 18+) with High Functioning Autism or Aspergers to work in
voluntary positions.

In this current economic climate paid employment is difficult to find for everyone, let alone
someone who finds social situations or communication difficult – like an interview! Some
individuals may not be able to obtain paid employment due to a mental health condition(s) or
anxiety – the Autism to Autism Service offers you the opportunity to do something that is
exciting, fulfilling and a great experience, without the added pressure that paid work can bring.

We are aiming to place individuals in Volunteering positions with:

 Families with a child diagnosed with ASC (aged up to 18) to provide support
 A young adult diagnosed with ASC (aged 18-25) to provide support/companionship
 Isolated adults with a diagnosis of Autism aged over 25
 Organisations that provide support to children/adults with ASC in an administrative
        office based role
 Currently running RfA children or adult groups/sessions to provide support for the
supported children/adults and/or assistance to the RfA staff members
 New Adult groups/sessions (to be set up according to the volunteers area of
specialism/expertise) to be lead by an RfA staff worker and instructed by the volunteer
 Pre-educational organisations (playgroups, nurseries etc…) that support children with
ASC (to be set up only if the volunteer has expertise and qualifications in this area)
 We will consider any placements that will benefit both the individual and the ASC
        Community
 Organisations that provide support to the local community (not specifically Autism
        focused/specific) could also be considered

There are so many ways to get involved - if you have any ideas or want to talk to someone
about working as a volunteer, please get in touch!

increasing skills and saving money for families.
The current project has developed to meet the needs of families in a time of increasing child
poverty. It takes second hand clothes and turns them into 'latest' fashion articles.

London

Catch22, in association with NCVYS (as part of the Department for Education's Overarching Strategic
Partnership) and GreenSpace, the nation’s park’s charity, will be hosting a conference on the role of
young people in designing and managing public spaces. Given evidence of the positive impact of this

efforts has never been stronger.

The conference will explore best practice from around the country and new approaches to funding
and sustainability, giving you the chance to get your questions answered by leading experts in the
fields of youth work and public space management. The event will be a mixture of talks and
workshops, all set in the historic surroundings of Trinity House, a short walk from Tower Hill and
Fenchurch Street stations.

This is a FREE event - open to parks managers/rangers, wildlife conservation practitioners, the youth
justice sector and anyone working in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector working
with children, young people and families.
