					Link Crew
What is it?

     A transition program for 9th graders where groups of 10 freshmen are paired with 2 Link
      Leaders

Who are the Link Leaders?

     Junior and Senior students selected through an application and interview process

What do Link Leaders do?

     Attend 2 days of intensive training prior to orientation
     Call freshmen assigned to them prior to orientation
     Lead small groups of freshmen in activities during orientation
     Follow-up activities throughout the year (phone calls, lunches, tailgate party, dances, lead
      advisory lessons, meet individually with freshmen)

Benefits of Link Crew

     Data has shown a significant reduction in the numbers of freshmen with D’s or F’s
     Some schools using Link Crew have reported a significant reduction in the number of
      tardy and discipline referrals among freshmen students (as much as 71 percent)
     Improves the overall climate of the school
     Transforms students’ high school experience when students are reached during freshmen
      year
