       A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Willie Mae

Willis Woods.

       WHEREAS, Willie Mae Willis Woods, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, was a native

daughter of the Commonwealth, born 85 years ago in Louisville, Kentucky; and

       WHEREAS, Willie Mae Willis Woods generously served the needs of many people

during her long career in health services and volunteerism in senior organizations. She

will forever be remembered as a kind and gracious lady, full of love for her family and

friends, and a faithful member of her church; and
       WHEREAS, Willie Mae Willis Woods was the loving and beloved mother to her

children, George T. Garnett and his wife Kelly, Ronald L. Garnett and his wife Camille,

C. JoAnn Woods, Rick Woods and his wife Els, Debra Woods, and the late William

Garnett. She was blessed with 35 loving grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, and

many family and friends; and

       WHEREAS, Willie Mae Willis Woods traversed these earthly bounds into her

Lord's presence on February 22, 2010, and her sweet, caring spirit will continue to

resonate in the hearts and minds of all those fortunate enough to have known her;

       NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of

Kentucky:
       Section 1.   The Senate does hereby express its most profound sense of sorrow

and proffers its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Willie Mae Willis

Woods during this time of her passing.

       Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and

honor of Willie Mae Willis Woods.

       Section 3.   The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit ten copies of this
Resolution to Ronald L. Garnett, 299 Broadway Avenue, Suite 1802, New York, New

York 10007-1904.
