Quick Summary
The DM17 map is a classic Death Match level from originating from Quake 3. The map features a series of jump pads
and teleports leading to symmetrically placed weapons to insure balance. The goal of remaking this map is to balance
the scale and gameplay appropriately for Unreal Tournament 3. Additionally, the art of this level is to undergo a
substantial overhaul to reflect that of a space outpost orbiting a nearby mining colony.


Technical Overview

Visual Design
The DM17 map is to be set in a space station transport hub for the nearby planet of Solaris. Solaris is home to a robust
mining colony, and thus the transport station is equipped with a variety of industrial technology (large, high tech
machinery and transmission equipment with grey and yellow tones). The sun of the Solaris system has a strong blue hue
and casts light across the station at all times. The shadows cast by the station’s equipment make for dark areas in which
to hide. The planet Solaris (a greenish color) has 2 grey moons and provides a backdrop against the stars (which are
visible all around the station). The structural features of DM17 provide for symmetrical game play and have stood the
test of time on this classic death match layout. There are signs through DM17 that a recent attempts have been made
by smugglers to steal the industrial supplies present. This is evident via ships hiding around the nearby moons and
scattered battle marks across select walls.

DM17 is exclusively a free for all Death Match map. DM17 will support anywhere from two to eight players, but a four
player match is ideal.

also 1 Keg O’ Health and 1 UDamage power-up present.
