I hope this letter finds you enjoying the beginning of summer. Personally, I am preparing to enter a
new season in my life as a student at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary—Charlotte. Taking this step
has been a great experience so far, and I’d like to share with you a little bit about what I will be doing.
For the past year, I have been meeting for Bible study with Sarah and Jason, two co-workers of
mine in the Ecommerce division at Wachovia. God gave me a special opportunity to share Christ with each
of them, and both Sarah and Jason have begun a relationship with God. As you can imagine, they are very
inquisitive about how to follow Christ, and, frankly, I have been stumped by some of their questions. I
recognize that I am gifted in sharing the Gospel with my coworkers, but I need more theological education
to help them. After discussing my dilemma with my pastor, I applied and was accepted into the Master of
Christian Thought program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary—Charlotte. I will begin my studies
part-time this fall, and I’m thrilled about learning how to answer my co-worker’s questions.
I have been chosen to participate in a new scholarship program called the Partnership Program.
Gordon-Conwell wants not to provide men and women with a theological education and to equip them to
build a personal ministry support team. The idea is for this team to provide much needed prayer, friendship
and financial support while students are in school. In this program, I will learn valuable biblical
stewardship principles, gain skills and knowledge in personal fundraising, and learn to teach others to do
the same. I believe this opportunity will enhance my experience at Gordon-Conwell and provide me with
practical ministry tools unavailable to me elsewhere as a student.
As part of my training, I am building a ministry support team to come alongside and support me
prayerfully and financially. Would you consider being a part of my seminary experience in this way? I am
seeking for six donors who will give $45 a month towards my tuition at Gordon-Conwell Theological
Seminary—Charlotte for the next three years while I am in school. Would you consider joining my
support team? Even if you can give $25 or even $10 a month, I would love to have your support. Your gift
is tax-deductible! You may pay by check, credit card, or electronic fund transfer (EFT). Make your check
payable to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. I’ve enclosed a pledge card to support the payment
option of your choice, and a business reply envelope for your convenience. Please use the envelope
provided and return both the card and your first donation together to ensure proper credit for your gift.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (your number) or via email at (your email address).
If I haven’t already heard from you, I will be contacting you in the next month to follow up. I look forward
to hearing from you soon.
