These are just a couple of the questions that Philip Zimbardo set out to answer in a famous 1971 experiment known as the Stanford Prison Experiment. 1. You are to visit the following website: http://www.prisonexp.org/ 2. Take the slide show tour and watch the embedded video clips. This will take approximately 30 minutes. 3. Answer the discussion questions below in a few sentences. Discussion Questions: If you were a guard, what type of guard would you have become? How sure are you? What prevented "good guards" from objecting or countermanding the orders from tough or bad guards? How can we extend these research findings to areas other than traditional prisons? Do they have any application to the outside world?
