FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE Serving the Tri-Cities, Maple Ridge area, New Westminster, and Mission WELCOME TO THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE AT MINNEKHADA MIDDLE SCHOOL The Family Resource Centre was formed in 2000 and works in cooperation with School District #43 to provide programs and service to children with exceptional learning needs. These needs may include but are not limited to: Gifted (or Fast Brained Kids), Autism, AD(H)D, Anxiety, Broad Based Learning Disabilities, and Gifted/LD. Our programs are open to ALL children in the community ages 5 and up, and new programs and services/programs will be added to meet the need in our community. Programs and services running during the current school year are: Multisensory Group Literacy Tutoring (ages 5 and up) Multisensory Math Group Tutoring (currently for grades 4 through 7) Mentorship Programs for Girls (ages 11 and up) Mentorship Program for Boys (ages 11 and up) Transition to Secondary School (students in Middle School) IEP Workshops for Parents (ongoing – different dates available) Resource Library Parent Support and Referral for Community Services (eg: Psycho-Ed Assessments) Program days/times vary to allow for more convenience for parents. We offer high quality, professional programs for families at very affordable rates. Registration is ongoing and we welcome new families to join us. Come and visit us - our new office is located in Room 48 (down the hallway to the right of the school office. Our normal office hours beginning in October 2012 will be Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 10:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. We are available, by appointment, to meet with parents outside normal office hours.
