"WAYNESVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND GUIDELINES"
WAYNESVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND GUIDELINES If every member follows these guidelines, we will be successful, as both a group and as individuals. Be WHERE you’re supposed to be, WHEN you’re supposed to be, doing WHAT you’re supposed to be doing, the WAY you’re supposed to be doing it! Follow all school rules and policies Be prepared (instrument, reeds, pencil, music, folder, valve oil, homework assign. etc.) Be on time Be courteous and respectful while others are playing, talking or teaching No gum, food or drink in bandroom Do no material from another class during band Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself Keep cases, books, backpacks and personal belongings in the proper place (NOT the rehearsal area!) Keep cubbies neat and orderly (The bandroom is NOT a locker room!) NO horseplay in the facility; we have a great deal of valuable equipment The use of the band facilities before, during and after school is a privilege. Abuse or damage to the facility or the equipment will be considered vandalism. Non-band students are not permitted in the bandroom except to see the directors The music library is off limits to students The band office is private and not to be entered by a student without permission from Mr. Caldwell. If the door is shut, please knock first. Please ask permission before using the telephone. Do not handle or use someone else’s instrument or an instrument that has not been assigned to you. THIS INCLUDES ALL PERCUSSION EQUIPMENT! If you must leave your seat for any reason during class, please ask first. School owned instrument policy: Each student who uses a school-owned instrument is completely responsible for the care of that instrument. If an instrument is damaged due to negligence or misuse, the student is financially responsible. This does NOT include normal wear and tear. Also, students using school-owned instruments are expected to be dedicated band students in practice time, attitude, participation, etc. ENJOY MUSIC
