Sample LCC Publicity Plan Year Round: Update council Facebook page. Things to include: Council-funded projects Pictures of programs and grant reception Advertise grant cycle Highlight arts in local schools Talk About Art! Campaign: remind members to tell friends and family about LCC events and meetings – recruit volunteers! Attend council funded projects – each member attends two/year. Late-July/August: Create our brochure with mission and grant application information. Distribute them around town at the local library, business, arts venues, schools and the local college, etc. Create a poster advertising upcoming grant deadlines and grant writing workshop, post at the same locations. Call Town Hall to arrange annual utility bill mailing with application details and community input survey in water/electric bills. Interview on cable access show, All About Town, to talk about the grant cycle and some successful funded projects. September: Write and send press release to the town newspaper and other news outlets to publicize the availability of grants and grant workshop. Organize and hold a grant writing workshop. Send out town-wide mailing piece. February - April: Send press release to local media outlets announcing grant winners. Chair & Treasurer draft a council report to submit to the town for mention at town meeting. Included this year: projects the council funded, a financial report, and council goals. April – June: Hold grant reception – check council member calendars in February to set a date. July: Old Home Day booth – bring community input surveys and recruit volunteers. Connect with funded artists participating in festivities.
