                        EXAMINING BOARD

                                           JUNE 24, 2004

The meeting was called to order by Robert H. Barrieau, Acting Chairman at 9:46 A.M. in
Room 117 of the State Office Building, 165 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, Connecticut.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS

Due to lack of a quorum present today, the Board was unable to approve minutes of the
April 22, 2004 meeting.


APPLICATIONS

Xavier A. Navick, Windsor Locks, CT – Applying for an S-7 license.
Due to lack of a quorum present today, the Board recommended that Mr. Navick provide a
copy of the course curriculum for the 160-Hour course submitted with his application titled
“Comprehensive Oil Heating Technician Course” and appear before the Board at their next
meeting scheduled for Thursday, August 12, 2004, in order to expand on his occupational and
school related instructional experience.

Clark Alan Francoeur, Manchester, CT – Applying for an SM-4 license.
Due to lack of a quorum present today, the Board recommended that the Department of
Consumer Protection staff review Mr. Francoeur’s application for compliance.


CORRESPONDENCE

    1. New England Regional Council of Carpenters – Correspondence dated April 27, 2004
       regarding “Fume Hoods”.

        Due to lack of a quorum present today and a no-show of the parties who submitted the
        correspondence, the Board recommended that this issue be tabled to their next meeting
        scheduled for Thursday, August 12, 2004.

    2. Sean Gallagher – Correspondence dated June 12, 2004, requesting the Board provide
       him with an opportunity to take a verbal Unlimited Journeyperson (S-2) examination in
       lieu of a written examination, due to his dyslexia condition.

        Mr. Gallagher appeared before the Board today and expanded on his issues relating to
        his (S-2) examination experience with PSI. Due to a lack of a quorum present today, the
        Board recommended that Mr. Gallagher communicate with PSI to request for an
        examination review and any special examination accommodations, due to his dyslexia
        condition. The Board further suggested that Mr. Gallagher communicate with them in
        the event PSI does not provide the requested accommodations.
