NUS Business School Department of Management & Organisation Senior OT Position Announcement The National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School invites applications for a senior (or mid-career) tenure-track position in the area of Organization Theory. The NUS Business School is part of a major comprehensive research university with 36,000 students from 100 different countries. As an internationally ranked and recognized institution, the school has extensive academic and industry links to China, India and the rest of the world. The Management and Organization department is a group of young and dynamic scholars doing important work in the areas of organizational behavior, organization theory, and human resource management. We are seeking an OT scholar with an outstanding track record, strong commitment to and ability for excellent scholarly research. Our faculty members with a macro focus (e.g., Chi-Nien Chung, Sangchan Park and Albert Teo) are looking at various issues pertaining to networks and business groups in emerging economies, diffusion of new institutions, and ecology of organizations. In addition, our school has a strategy group, with quite a few strong researchers there (e.g., Sea-Jin Chang, Andrew Delios, Ishtaq Mahmood, and Kulwant Singh). While the strategy group is in a separate department, we work closely with them, and attend seminars in both groups. Recent works from our colleagues have been published in such journals as Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal. We are serious about strengthening our OT group, and we believe that the foundations in place are good, and we are committed to doing more. NUS provides a supportive environment including competitive salaries/benefits (housing and education allowances), generous research grants, and reduced teaching loads. Bernard Yeung (Finance/Strategy Prof from NYU) joined our school as Dean in 2008, and he is extremely supportive. For scholars with an interest in Asia, not only as a research focus but also as a place to live and work in, NUS and Singapore has much to offer. Completed applications received by 31 October 2011, will receive full consideration.
