Chicago O’Hare Airport to MIA
Free Hotel Shuttle bus to: Airport Regency Hotel in Miami. 305 441 1600.
1000 NW 42nd Ave. (LeJeune Rd.) Free shuttle to and from airport.Briefing 7 pm
or sooner in hotel lobby

FRIDAY – JANUARY 11th

Depart for Cuba. Wilson Flight? Terminal? Check in at 4 AM Arrive Santiago de
Cuba Pick up in Santiago by AMISTUR bus. This will be your longest day, so bring
trail type snacks.
Afternoon Tour: See: Plaza de la Revolucion, Moncada ETC

SATURDAY – JANUARY 12th

Drive to Baracoa. Stop at Cajobabo for a visit to the José Martí museum. Hike to
Monument Continue on to Baracoa.

SUNDAY – JANUARY 13th

Meet with Alexis?

Walking tour of Baracoa and the Malecon with the architect of the City of
Baracoa, Enrique Floirian. Visit area of Turey, Maceo landing. Field trip with
picnic lunch.

Afternoon: Visit artists’ workshops and study the influence of Yoruba, Taíno and
Santeria on painting in Baracoa.

MONDAY – JANUARY 14th

Tour/lecture -- Matachin Museum and hike to Llara (small fishing community)
Evening: Cultural event at Musuem - history of music in Baracoa: Kiriba, Ningon,
Son, Salsa, y Bachata!

TUESDAY – JANAURY 15th

Visit to Archaeological museum with Roberto Ordúñez, archaeologist of the city of
Baracoa and director of the museum. Lunch.
Visit to rural areas around Jamal and Majayara/Boma. Bring lunch.

Alexander Humbolt Park – UNESCO World Site

A.M. Visit to Maternity Ward – Lecture on Health Care in Cuba?

Santiago

Leave hotel for airport. Santiago/Miami.
Connecting flight to Chicago
