        Collaborated with Grant writer, received grants for nursing education from; Verizon, Harold and
        Beatrice Renfield Foundation, Walter and Louise Sutcliffe Foundation, and the Edward and Stella
        VanHouten Memorial Fund. Received $91,000 for Nursing Education from 2007 to 2010.
        Developed and implemented Inpatient Wound Care Coordinator Position 2008 provided funding through
        grants for five RN’s to become wound care certified by 2009. Hospital Acquired pressure ulcer rate
        decreased from 5.4% in 2008 to 4.6% in 2009 and ultimately 3.5% in 2010. Hospital designated Wound
        Care Excellence Site by The Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
        Chaired Nurse Practice Committee: revised Medical Surgical Manual to Hospital Intranet ensured
        Regulatory compliance, conducted annual PPR review, incorporated ANCC standards of practice.
        Redeveloped Care Planning process to include patient driven numeric Pain goal numbering 2009.
        Improved HCAP’s pain score for patients rating the hospital 9’s and 10’s from 57% in 2009 to 65% in
        Chaired Evidenced Based Practice Committee: Assumed position of Assurance Officer. Developed and
        executed contractual agreement, UMDNJ- IRB 2004. Refocused committee to implement
        interdisciplinary knowledge based charting, with computerized documentation
        Launched first hospital based Research study. “To measure the effects of live Harp therapy and/or
        intercessory prayer on hospital patients’ length of stay.”
        Chaired Patient Family Education Committee increased documentation compliance to 97%. Developed
        educational processes for TJC, PRO initiatives, quality improvement tracking and reporting process.
        Implemented Hand Off communication model SBAR, compliance reached 98%.
        Developed Medication Reconciliation for admission, level of care change and discharge.
        Conducted successful Acute Care - TJC Survey for every department managed from 1993 to 2010.
