Provide superior administrative support to the Office of Development at the Archdiocese
of Washington. Handle a diverse and complex set of administrative tasks including
significant donor record management and customer service. Ability to multi-task, focus
on detail and professionally communicate with various internal offices and external
donors. Must be fluent in Spanish and English. Supportive of Catholic teachings and the
mission of the Catholic Church.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
•Provide daily customer service to donors and Pastors of the Archdiocese of Washington
in English and Spanish
•Strong ability to fluently communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
•Notify donors by mail or e-mail as appropriate, of expiring credits cards, returned
checks, and declined credit/debit cards payments with reasons; and update records
promptly and appropriately. Also work with donors regarding potential shortfalls.
•Acknowledge receipt of donor stock donations for Cardinal’s Appeal and Forward in
Faith and other entities; verify stock donations have been converted to cash; prepare
appropriate check requests.
•Process on-line payments and pledges.
•Prepare deposits for Cardinal’s Appeal on regular basis.
•Provide donors with end of year receipts.
•Oversee and organize processing of in-pew pledges for Cardinal’s Appeal.
•Receive and process return mail, research and update records with current data.
•Play lead role in organizing event planning and execution of meetings, special events for
•Serve as Administrative Assistant to supervisor.
•Strong skills in Excel, Word, and merging files.
•Associates degree in Administration, business, Marketing, or related field.
•Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Business, Marketing or related field preferred
Training or Certification:
•MS Office Suite
•Basic Accounting or Bookkeeping Preferred
•Four years related experience; or combination of education, training and experience
•One year related experience working in fundraising environment preferred
