Shop Trading Hours (Easter Trading)
Proclamation 2003
under section 13 of the Shop Trading Hours Act 1977



1—Short title
        This proclamation may be cited as the Shop Trading Hours (Easter Trading)
        Proclamation 2003.
2—Commencement
        This proclamation comes into operation on the day on which it is made.
3—Easter trading hours—Metropolitan Shopping District
        Subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule, all shops (other than shops the
        business of which is solely or predominantly the retail sale of boats or motor vehicles)
        in the Metropolitan Shopping District are authorised to be open—
           (a)   until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, 16 April 2003; and
           (b)   until 5 p.m. on Saturday, 19 April 2003.
4—Easter trading hours—Central Shopping District and Glenelg Tourist
   Precinct
        All shops (other than exempt shops and shops to which section 13(5e) of the Shop
        Trading Hours Act 1977 applies) in the Central Shopping District and the Glenelg
        Tourist Precinct are required to be closed on Sunday, 20 April 2003 at times when it
        would otherwise be lawful to open them.

Schedule—Conditions
This proclamation only authorises the opening of the shop if—
  (a)   all relevant industrial awards, workplace agreements and enterprise agreements are
        observed by the shopkeeper and persons employed in the business of the shop during
        and in relation to the hours specified in this proclamation during which the shop is
        open; and
  (b)   subject to an industrial award, workplace agreement or enterprise agreement to the
        contrary—a person who is employed in the business of the shop is entitled to refuse to
        work at the shop during the hours specified in this proclamation unless he or she has
        agreed with the shopkeeper to work during those hours.
