Provide Thanksgiving Dinner
for a Family in Southeast DC
The Community Service Committee is working on this project with
Pastor Bob Mathieu of DC Christian Ministries and the Anacostia
Collect the non-perishable ingredients for
Thanksgiving dinner, such as boxed potatoes or
macaroni and cheese, bags or boxes of stuffing,
canned vegetables (corn, green beans, yams, Durke onions, etc.), cream of
mushroom soup, marshmallows or brown sugar, canned gravy or gravy mix,
cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie filling, a cake mix, tea or coffee.
Provide Safeway or Giant gift cards in denominations no greater than $25 so the
family can purchase the turkey and other perishable ingredients. Send multiple
cards if donations exceed $25. Pastor Mathieu will use extra cards to help
Food and gift cards should be delivered between Noon and 3:00 pm on
Thursday, November 20, 2008, to:

Take Suitland Parkway east to Stanton Road.
At the 2nd light, make a right on Alabama Avenue.
#1217 is on the left about ½ block past the light at the Congress Park Metro station.
The building looks like a small apartment building; the church has offices on the ground
