In January 2010, the journal of the British Association of Paintings Conservator-Restorers (BAPCR) was re-launched with an
updated format under a new editorial team. Published twice yearly, The Picture Restorer represents the only British journal
focusing specifically on the conservation of paintings and functions to unite those working in museums, heritage institutions, and
the private sector. The publication is designed to be of interest to paintings conservators, students of conservation, conservation
scientists and art historians. The publication now benefits from a new layout, a 12-page colour section, and more content. It
comprises 52 pages of A4 format, and is issued in Spring and Autumn. The latest Spring 2011 edition is out now!

We aim to give a practical bias to our features, encouraging the exchange of ideas within the conservation community. Regular
columns include articles based on the BAPCR programme of lectures, held four times a year at the Art Worker's Guild in London;
discussions of new materials; practical information on conservation techniques, and on framing and packing paintings; interviews
with conservators; news from the postgraduate training courses in the UK; and comprehensive reviews and listings.
