Contribution of $11,197 is requested to cover administration, “programme”, and the “sourcing” and “packing” of this equipment. (WCE is not responsible for moving voltage toggle switch, software, adapting wall plug, demurrage, or repair costs.) Programme: online support on technology, content, and telecentre management and sister-schools as available - we will see if we can recruit any adult or youth volunteers to provide this support onsite. Sourcing: costs related to gathering & testing computers including: salary, promotion, public computer-gathering events, food for volunteers, insurance, communications, coordination, computer storage, rental trucks / freight companies for transport of computers in the US, administrative travel to help with container packing, awning rental, and some needed pieces of equipment (keyboards, mice, power cords) purchased from computer recycling companies. Packing: rows of computers surrounded by card board and bubble wrap, monitors individually bubble-wrapped and/or palletized, keyboards, mice, cables, and power cords and other items packed in separate boxes with contents labeled. You have made no financial arrangements for separate, labeled boxes nor for lists of serial numbers.

I hereby certify that the WORLD COMPUTER EXCHANGE, Inc., a non-profit, tax-exempt international educational organization (NGO) incorporated under the laws of Massachusetts, USA, and headquartered in Hull, Massachusetts, USA has donated the following equipment donated by individuals and companies: 123 to connect to the Internet Gyan Shala schools and centres in Gujarat recruited and prepared by the Education Support Organization and 73 for schools recruited and prepared by the REaD Foundation in Uttar Pradesh and 15 for schools recruited by NEED. The following equipment is valued and insured at US$ 11,197 not counting the $2,445 for shipping to Nhava Sheva and then on to Ahmedabad by train. 206 used donated 110/220 (toggle) volt Pentium desktop and some laptop PC computers (as agreed – mostly [67%] PIs) (all tested as working the day of packing) of various brands most with network cards & CD ROMs & some with internal modems - plus 5 nonworking computers for parts 208 used donated PC keyboards and 194 mice for the above computers in 16 boxes 7 boxes of variety of used donated software, speakers, parts, and peripherals for the above PCs 169 used donated color 110/220 volt PC monitors for the above computers of various brands (15 - 17 inches) (all tested as working on day packed) with video cables 380 used and new donated US-style power cords for the above equipment in 5 boxes 28 used donated 110 volt PC printers with data cables 3 used donated scanners and 8 network hubs The consignee and co-beneficiary of this donation for schools (NOT FOR RESALE):

Participating schools/centres commit that their youth will partner online with tech-savvy sister-schools Donated computers are delivered to the participating schools/centres from the port-of-entry Participating schools commit to use the computers for student-access to the Internet during most school days Donated computers are installed, regularly maintained, and secured Phone, power, and Internet service are provided so computers are connected to Internet Schools/centres will encourage students to develop historical & cultural websites & link them to the WCE website Schools/centres (students if possible) prepare online annual reports on computer status, use, and impact; on-line partnerships; press coverage; & webpages to WCE and students will be involved in reporting 8. Schools/centres (students if possible) supply on-line answers to annual WCE evaluation survey 9. Schools/centres sign an agreement to recycle or dispose of computer equipment at the end of its useful life in a way that does minimal ecological harm 10.
