Overview, Ronald Hyman, State Registrar and Director
A history of vital records in Colorado and across the nation will be given. The
legal and public health importance and use of these documents will be explained.
Administration of this industry in Colorado will be explained as well as the
resources available to your office. We will also discuss recent changes in
Colorado including the requirement of public health in each county/region and
current legislative issues.
1:45 – 2:30 p.m.
Fetal Death Registration, Renee Bear, Field Liaison
An overview of requirements, gestational age registration requirements,
acceptable entries, disposition permit, and stillbirth certificate information will be
provided.
2:30 – 3:00 p.m.
Death Registration, Renee Bear, Field Liaison
Detailed information will be reviewed regarding death certificate requirements.
Data requirements, permit issuance, pending/amended certificate, corrections,
amendments, and shipment of remains out of the country will all be discussed.
3:00 – 3:15 p.m. Break
3:15 – 4:00 p.m.
