							Glass-To-Metal Seals for Sensors
Whether in harsh environments, or subject to high pressure or high
temperatures, sensor housings by Electrovac ensure RELIABLE and
PRECISE functioning of your sensors.

    (alloy with nickel and cobalt)
    High-pressure glass seal in steel, stainless steel or titanium
    Seals with miniature metal tubes connected to the base plate via
    hard-soldering or pressing-in
For sensors, standard-series glass-to-metal seals, for semiconductor or
hybrid sealings are used.
In addition standard TO 8-bases with custom modifications such us
additional tubes which are sealed or brazed into base plates are possible.
The housings of sensor packages are made of steel, stainless steel, NiFeCo
or titanium.
On request, new glass feedthroughs can be developed for optimum
problem solving.
Together with our customers we develop special sealings, e.g. for pressure
sensors with a pressure application of far above 1,000 bar.
Materials
Glass-to-metal seals for sensors have to meet the most diverse
requirements, depending on the relevant sensor type. According to the
structural requirements, the feedthroughs may be designed as adapted
NiFeCo-version (material No 1.3981) or as compression glass sealings in
steel, stainless steel (e.g. material No. 1.4301) or titanium (e.g. material
No. 1.4404).

Connecting Pins
The connecting pins are insulated with glass and hermetically sealed with
the outer part. The material used for the connecting pins is NiFeCo
(material No. 1.3981) for the coordinated design and NiFe (material No.
2.4478) for the design with compression glass.
Surface Treatment
The surface treatment of the metal parts can be performed individually
according to customer requirements. Electric or chemical nickel-plating as
well as gold-plating or selective gold-plating of pins are typical surface
finishes.
Production Engineering
In all necessary production technologies Electrovac can look back to nearly
50 years of experience. The large production range comprises the
production of tools and fusion castings, pressing, milling, preparation of
glass from raw glass up to complete melting and the whole surface
treatment. Our automated production enables us to provide competitive
pricing.
Quality Assurance
Our quality control system is arranged in accordance with DIN 9001. The
inspection methods and specifications are adjusted to our customer’s
requirements, the industry and our internal standards.
Manufacture of Samples
If samples are required for new developments, our samples department is
able to quickly manufacture packages of a new design. The same
professional standard is applied both to the sample and the large-scale
production. This enables us to move without any difficulties from the
prototype to series production.
