After school at Tonbridge Michael earned his MA in Economics at
Pembroke College, Cambridge University. After university he joined
the JP Morgan Analyst training programme in New York and spent three
years working in JP Morgan's Mergers & Acquisitions execution team in
London. After a brief period working in Venture Capital outside JP
Morgan, he was hired back into the firm's Proprietary Positioning
Business, investing the firm's capital in European equities and
distressed debt. In 2002 he transferred to New York where he was
responsible for JP Morgan's credit and distressed debt proprietary
business. In 2006 he moved to Lehman Brothers to co-manage US trading
for their new Global Principal Strategies division, responsible for
investments and trading in the stocks, bonds, loans and derivatives
of North American companies. After returning to Europe in December,
Michael is now responsible for Global Principal Strategies in Europe,
leading investments across Europe in private equity, distressed debt,
high yield debt, structured credit, public equity and other
strategies
