CC 5.NBT.4   Use place value understanding to round decimals to any place.
Review for Test:
CC 5.NBT.3    Read, write, and compare decimals to thousandths.
CC 5.NBT.3.a  Read and write decimals to thousandths using base-ten numerals, number
              names, and expanded form.
CC 5.NBT.3.b  Compare two decimals to thousandths based on meanings of the digits in
              each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of
              comparisons.


Monday: Review Task

       1. Bell Work
       2. Pass back graded tasks
       3. Go over the rubric and how they were graded
       4. Give one blank task per group
       5. Allow students discussion/group time, and have them come up with a group solution for
          each question (option, have them put group solutions on white chart paper)
       6. Group share time (under document camera or chart paper)
       7. Take up graded tasks (to place in Tuesday Folder)
       8. NO HOMEWORK




Tuesday: Rounding Whole Numbers/Decimals

       1.    Bell Work
       2.    Step by Step video Lesson 2-2
       3.    PPT to guide/notes and practice
       4.    Guided practice page 28-29 (include the word problems)
       5.    HOMEWORK: Worksheet (both sides)
Wednesday: Rounding Whole Numbers/Decimals (Menu Math)

      1. Bell Work
      2. Check homework from last night
      3. Discuss when are some real life situations in which rounding is needed. Grocery shopping,
         going out to eat, etc.
      4. Tell students they will be using rounding/estimating to find the best value at a restaurant.
      5. They will have $7.00 to spend on lunch. They will need to find 3 possible combinations
         using rounding to the nearest whole dollar.
      6. They will also need to use rounding to find the MOST expensive meal on the menu and the
         LEAST expensive meal on the menu.
      7. Have a few groups share
      8. HOMEWORK: WB page 38 and 39. 1 Grade for both sides



Thursday: Place Value Review

      1. Bell Work
      2. Around the room review (from PPT slides)
      3. Go over answers in class.
      4. HOMEWORK:
         Page 20: Set A # 1,3,6,9,10    Set B # 1-5
         Page 21: Set C #1-6         Set D # 1-5
          Page 52: Set B # 1-8



Friday: Place Value Review

      1. NO BELL WORK
      2. Review homework from last night (spot check)
