This class will elevate officers awareness regarding street gangs: why & what they do; how they display antisocial behavioral
patterns; various gang types; potential gang racial confrontation creating a new level of violence; and 3-strike law provision
causing more violent confrontation with authorities; all resulting in an all time high gang member mindset for wanton violence.
Course This better understanding of gang characteristics will aid officers in dealing with gang members and assist in the intervention
Summary: methods for gang members on their case loads. It will also improve their reasoning and methods of communication with gang
Attendees will leave armed with knowledge that they can apply in their daily job functions.
UPON COURSE COMPLETION, PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ABLE TO: A. State why & what gangs do; B. describe how gangs
display antisocial behavioral patterns; C. List various gang types; D. describe potential gang racial confrontation creating a new level
of violence; E. Explain the 3-strike law causing more violent confrontation with authorities.
