The minutes of Lezayre Parish Commissioners meeting held on 2nd July 2009, at 7pm,
the Community Hall, Clenagh Road, Sulby, Lezayre.
Members present: Mrs V A Quane (Chairman), Mr C W Roberts, Mr A D Radcliffe and
Mr C Birchenough. Mrs Maureen Rimmer, Clerk was in attendance. No members of the
Public or Press attended.
The minutes of the previous meeting held on 11th June 2009, having been circulated,
were taken as read and signed as a correct record by the chairman.
Matters arising from the minutes
Dolge - Litter Act 1972 Amendments – Comments are to be received by the Clerk in
time for the deadline of 31.07.09.
Department of Health and Social Security - Health and Social Care in the Isle of Man –
Your opportunity to influence Future Policy - Comments are to be received by the Clerk
in time for the deadline of 31.07.09.

General Registry Information required for New Chairperson. The Clerk
advised that she had informed them of the change of
DAFF Consultation on Cable Reefs Trials Port Erin Closed
Area. The Commissioners felt on the whole that this
was a good idea.
Electoral Registration Revisions to Register of Electors in force 01.07.09
Road Transport Licensing Committee No 269 (nothing for our parish)
Isle of Man Prison Service Vehicle traveling Tholt y Will Rd weight restriction.
Prison Vehicle using this road now has exemption
permit. It was noted that other overweight vehicles
have been seen on this road. Vivien Quane proposed
Chris Birchenough seconded that a further letter be
written to the DOT regarding this.
Department of Tourism Acknowledgement of our entries to Island In Bloom 09
Highways Monthly June 2009 issue 35 Noted
Manx Electricity Requesting signed contract to be returned. The Clerk
advised that she had now returned the signed
Borough of Douglas Invitation to Civic Sunday 28.06.09 No one available
Manx Grand Prix Supporters Club Letter of thanks for collection of donations during the
TT period. The Commissioners were impressed with
the amount of money collected £697.30. Well done to

IOM Gov DAFF - Requesting poster to be displayed. “Biodiversity – global action for
wildlife brings local opportunity”.
Mr Curphey – Letter outlining events at the Claddaghs over the year. Arthur Radcliffe
proposed, Chris Roberts seconded that the clerk write to Mr Curphey pointing out that
the Claddagh is of constant concern to the Commissioners and that a lot of time is spent
trying to resolve many problems.
Letter received from J Arnold, praising the work done by Mr Christian and the decorators
at the Ballabrooie toilet block. It has made a big difference.
Arthur Radcliffe pointed out that the Cherry Trees at the Sulby Bridge are in need of
cutting back again. The clerk was asked to write to the DOT regarding this. Proposed
Arthur Radcilffe, seconded by Vivien Quane.
Complaints had been received by Chris Birchenough regarding the grassed areas at St
Stephen’s Meadow. Chris Birchenough proposed, Chris Roberts seconded that the
Clerk write to Hartford Homes to request that these areas be maintained.
The Next Meeting was arranged for in the Community Hall, Clenagh Road, Sulby,
Lezayre on the 6th August 2009 at 7pm.
The meeting closed at 7.35pm.
